Incoming border czar Tom Homan has a three-word message for mayors of sanctuary cities who want to oppose Donald Trump’s mass deportation plan: “Don’t test us.”
Homan spoke with officers from the Texas National Guard and the Texas Department of Public Safety in Eagle Pass, Texas, on Tuesday, assuring them that Trump’s plan will move forward.
“Let me be clear: There will be a mass deportation because we just ended a massive illegal immigration crisis at the border.”
“It is a criminal offense to knowingly harbor hidden illegal anti-immigration authorities. The nation wants a safe country,” Homan added.
His warning comes as Denver Mayor Mike Johnston and others have said they will push back against federal deportation efforts. Johnston has said he is “not afraid” of going to jail for this.
When Homan appeared on Hannity on Monday, he issued a direct threat against Johnston if he refused to comply.
“I and the mayor of Denver agree on one thing; he is willing to go to jail. I’m willing to put him in jail.’
Johnston told CNN on Tuesday night that he expects citizens to commit acts of civil disobedience to prevent what he describes as “ten-year-old children being taken out of class in handcuffs.”

Meanwhile, earlier Tuesday in Eagle Pass, Homan praised state police for taking the lead on the migrant crisis.
“What you have done is not only protect the state of Texas and the citizens of Texas, you protect this nation,” Homan told the troopers.
“It’s a shame that we have other governors and other mayors who said right out of the gate that they’re going to push back on President Trump.”
Homan explained that immigration courts and border patrol are pointless if the migrants are not removed.
“We need to remove them because if we don’t close the immigration court, those orders mean nothing,” he told the crowd.
“You can’t demand a fair trial and seek asylum and disobey the court order. That is why a mass deportation is necessary.’
Homan warned states that were considering not cooperating with the federally led deportations, urging them “not to cross that line.” He noted that harboring illegal immigrants is a crime.
‘If we don’t do it, what is the option? Let them stay? Because if you let them stay, you’ll never fix the border. You’re going to send a message to the rest of the world: enter this country illegally, which is a crime, ignore a court order… we’re telling the whole world that it’s okay to enter this country illegally, you never have to go home,” Homan added.
