The youngest of Donald Trump’s 10 grandchildren sat on his lap during her father, Eric,’s remarks at the Republican National Convention on Thursday.
The final night of the convention featured the largest entourage of Trump family members, including Eric and Lara Trump’s children, Carolina, 4, and Luke, 6, and former first lady Melania Trump.
Carolina clapped as she sat on Trump’s lap while her older brother, Eric Luke, joined in cheering on their father as he sat on their mother Lara’s lap.
In the wake of the assassination attempt on Trump at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, relatives helped show a more “human” side of the firebrand former president.
Donald Trump’s youngest granddaughter, 4-year-old Carolina, sat on his lap during her father Eric’s speech at the Republican Convention on Thursday, while her brother Luke, 6, sat on their mother Lara’s lap for remarks.
Former first lady Melania Trump made her grand entrance at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on the event’s final night Thursday.
“Five days ago, Lara, Luke, Carolina and I held our breath as we watched the blood pour down your face,” Eric said on stage. “By the grace of God, divine intervention and your guardian angels, you survived.”
Seventeen-year-old Kai Trump, the eldest of the grandchildren, stole the show when she made her national stage debut at the Convention on Wednesday.
She talked about how Trump is just a “normal grandpa” who sneaks soda and candy to his grandchildren when their parents are watching.
Kai’s four siblings joined her in the Trump guest box at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Melania made her only appearance at the convention on Thursday night with a grand entrance to massive cheers just before Kid Rock’s performance and UFC CEO Dana White introduced the president before his remarks.
She greeted her husband’s new running mate, Sen. JD Vance, and his wife Usha, and sat next to them during Trump’s remarks.
Melania’s appearances on the campaign trail are very rare and she only appears at a few select events. On Thursday she was joined by her husband’s new running mate, Senator JD Vance, and his wife Usha
Beautiful Carolina and her brother Luke stole the show as they clapped and reacted to their father’s speech when he appeared on the giant screen at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Eric recounted how he, his wife Lara and their children reacted when they learned of the attempted assassination of Trump
Trump’s daughter Ivanka (center) and son-in-law Jared Kushner (left) made their only trip to the convention center Thursday alongside Tiffany Trump and her husband, who were in the president’s guest box every night.
The Vances were at an event with former President Trump last month when he revealed that Usha and Melania have something in common.
He asked Usha what she thought about being in political life with a senator as her husband.
When she gave a nonchalant response, Trump responded with an insult and said his wife “hated him too,” prompting laughter from Usha, according to a New York Times report.
Melania has largely been absent from the 2020 and 2024 campaign trail after taking a more public role in her husband’s first White House bid in 2016.
Speaking to Fox & Friends last month about the prospects of her husband becoming Trump’s running mate, Usha revealed her concerns about being in the spotlight of the MAGA world.
“I don’t know if anyone is prepared for that kind of scrutiny,” he said. “I think the first campaign he undertook surprised us. It was very different from anything we had done before, but it was an adventure.”
His daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner also came out Thursday to support the former president as he closes out the convention as the official nominee for 2024.
Ivanka and Jared served in official roles for Trump from 2016 to 2020, but have since grown apart professionally after serving as senior advisers during his sole term in the White House.
Earlier this month, Ivanka confirmed that she would attend the Republican Convention “in a personal capacity” to watch her father accept the party’s nomination, but she would not address the delegates.
