President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday named Devin Nunes, CEO of his social media platform Truth Social, to lead the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board, an independent group within the Executive Office that oversees US compliance with the Constitution. of the American intelligence community.

Nunes will continue to lead Trump Media & Technology Group, a public company with a market capitalization of nearly $8 billion. Trump is the company’s largest shareholder, with nearly 115 million shares currently worth about $4.2 billion.

Nunes previously served as a Republican lawmaker from California and was chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.

“Devin will leverage his experience … and his key role in exposing the Russia, Russia, Russia deception, to provide me with independent assessments of the effectiveness and appropriateness of the activities of the United States intelligence community,” Trump said Saturday in a Social Truth Posting.

Nunes has led Trump Media since late 2021. Her selection to lead the Intelligence Advisory Board further ties the company to the incoming Trump administration. Linda McMahon, Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Education, and Kash Patel, who has been tapped to become FBI director, sit on Trump Media’s board of directors alongside the president-elect’s son, Donald Trump Jr.
