Trump switches back to attacking Dems on deposition a day after he has offered olive branches to Iran
Ayatollah who? Donald Trump shifts back to attacking Democrats on deposition one day after offering olive branch to Iran as he taunts Nancy Pelosi for withholding articles from GOP-led Senate
- Donald Trump turned his attention again to attacking Democrats on Thursday
- He complains that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi does not hand over articles of deposition to the senate controlled by the republicans
- Criticism of democrats comes after the president’s attention last week to US-Iran relations
- Trump led a drone attack in which an Iranian military leader was eliminated last week
- He expanded an olive branch on Wednesday and urged European countries to close a “deal” that would allow Iran to explore its “untapped potential” as a trading partner

- Minority leader Chuck Schumer suggested this week that it may be time for Pelosi to admit and give accusations to the Republican-controlled chamber
- Majority leader Mitch McConnell says he has the Republican vote to start a trial without witnesses
Donald Trump quickly turned his attention back to attacking Democrats because he had accused him on Thursday, after making Iran a topic of discussion for a week amid rising tensions in the region.
“Pelosi does not want to hand The Articles of Impeachment, which were primarily fraudulently produced by corrupt politicians such as Shifty Schiff, because after all these years of investigation and prosecution, they show no crimes and a joke and a scam!” Trump was on Twitter on Thursday morning.
“PRESIDENTIAL FUN!” he complained in a follow-up tweet.
Trump refers to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s refusal to hand over two accusation articles to the Senate after the House in December voted almost entirely according to party lines to accuse the President of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
Donald Trump turned his attention again to attacking Democrats on Thursday by moaning that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not transferring articles of deposition to the Senate
The criticism of the Democrats comes after a week of attention for relations between the US and Iran after the president who led a drone attack in which a prominent Iranian military leader was eliminated
However, her senate colleagues have broken with her in stopping the articles from the upper room – especially after senate majority leader Mitch McConnell announced this week that he has enough votes from the Republicans to start Trump’s trial without witnesses.
“Once the accusation process has begun, we have the votes to adopt a resolution essentially the same, very similar to the 100-0 vote in the Clinton trial,” McConnell announced after lunch with members of his party on Tuesday.
Democratic Minority leader Chuck Schumer, who urged the Senate to call witnesses in his approaching trial, suggested that Pelosi would finally surrender and hand over the articles so that the Senate could start its part of the deposition procedures.
“The speaker has always said she wanted to see the arena in which she played when it came to trial, so that she could appoint impeachment managers. Now it becomes clear that Mitch McConnell wants to do everything to prevent a fair trial, so that she has an idea of what is happening, “Schumer said.
“By not sending the items right away, she has already achieved two things,” he continued. “First, Mitch McConnell could not do what some thought he would like to do: just fire before or after Christmas. And secondly in two weeks there is a cascade of evidence that reinforces the case – greatly reinforces the case – for witnesses and documents. So now we have a greater sense of where we are going and speaker Pelosi – I have a lot of confidence in the decision she will make. But she has already achieved a lot. ”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he has the Republican vote to start a trial without witness, which the Democrats have demanded several times. McConnell says that Pelosi has no leverage
McConnell said Wednesday that he would not allow Pelosi to negotiate charges, claiming she has no leverage.
Since the start of the impeachment procedure, with a number of personal and Twitter attacks, Trump has complained that it is a partisan ‘witch hunt’ and ‘hoax’.
Last week he took a short break from focusing on charges and changed the conversation to American-Iranian relations and increasing tension in the region.
There were a number of attacks that culminated in a New Year’s Eve raid on the American embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, carried out by protesters who support Shiite militia-backed by Iran.
Trump led a drone attack in which Soleimani, a prominent Iranian military leader, was eliminated.
Democrats doubt the intelligence that led to the strike, even after the House and Senate were informed Wednesday of the situation by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and other defense and intelligence officials.
Iran took revenge on the US after Soleimani’s death by firing about two dozen ballistic missiles at bases in Iraq that house American troops – no one was injured or killed.
Trump initially threatened that he would react in a “disproportionate” way if Iran took revenge.
In a speech on Wednesday morning from the White House Grand Foyer, he insisted that Iran should never get a nuclear weapon while he is president.
He also expanded an olive branch and urged European countries to “make a deal with Iran that makes the world a safer and more peaceful place” and enable Iran to explore its “untapped potential” as a regular trading partner.
