Donald Trump has lashed out at George Clooney, claiming the two-time Oscar winner “never came close to making a great movie” after the actor called on Joe Biden to drop out of the race for the White House.
The Republican candidate lashed out at the lifelong Democrat in a series of posts on his Truth Social social media page.
This came after Clooney wrote a damning op-ed in the New York Times claiming the president had “saved democracy” by defeating Trump in 2020, but would have to step aside this time to repeat the feat.
“Crooked Joe Biden did not save our democracy,” Trump raged. “He brought our democracy to its knees. Clooney should quit politics and go back to TV. Movies never did him much good!”
The actor’s dramatic intervention came just three weeks after co-hosting a record-breaking $28 million fundraising event for the president.

On Wednesday, the actor lent his voice to the growing chorus of Democrats calling for the president to step aside in response to his chaotic showing in the first presidential election against Donald Trump.

But it was Clooney who drew the ire of the former host of reality show The Apprentice.
