Former President Donald Trump pointedly criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her progressive political record during Tuesday night’s presidential debate.
ABC News moderator Linsey Davis noted that Harris once supported banning fracking, a mandatory government buyback program for assault weapons and decriminalizing border crossings for migrants.
Trump reminded viewers that Harris had been trying to backtrack on her more radical positions on important issues since she became the Democratic presidential nominee.
“Everything she believed in three and four years ago went out the window,” Trump said.

He said Harris was shifting her political positions toward her philosophy on important issues.
“She’s now adopting my philosophy. In fact, I was going to send her a MAGA hat,” she said. “She’s embraced my philosophy, but if she ever got elected, she would change it and it would be the end of our country.”
Harris echoed Trump’s proposal to end tip taxes on service workers and argued that she actually supports increased border security.
Trump also reminded viewers that Harris’s father, Donald Harris, was a Marxist economics professor.
“She’s a Marxist, everybody knows she’s a Marxist,” Trump said. “Her father is a professor of Marxist economics and he taught her well.”
