Donald Trump’s would-be assassin bought 50 rounds of ammunition just hours before the shooting, according to explosive reports.
Nor did the Secret Service raze the roof where gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on the former president.
The horrific new developments reported by CNN come as the Secret Service faces mounting questions about how the 20-year-old managed to get within just 130 yards of where Trump was speaking in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The attackers shot Trump in the ear with an AR-style rifle that his father purchased legally.
A new video surfaced Monday showing Trump supporters watching, pointing and asking why Crooks was on the roof.
Several witnesses said they warned law enforcement that a gunman was creeping toward the building, but they did not respond before he began shooting.
“Look, everyone is pointing,” the man behind the camera is heard saying as the camera pans from the stage to the roof of the warehouse, where a figure is seen crawling. “Yeah, there’s someone up on the roof, look.”
The roof where Crooks lay with his gun was flagged as a security concern and was searched by local police, not the Secret Service.
