- A hearing on high-risk testing is underway in Fulton County, Georgia
- A former friend of prosecutor Fani Willis testified about a ‘romantic’ relationship BEFORE Willis hired a romantic partner
- Willis took the stand and criticized her former friend, calling her testimony a lie.
Former President Trump declared ‘GAME OVER’ in his Georgia election interference case during the dramatic hearing that could disqualify Fulton County Prosecutor Fani Willis.
Trump took to his Truth Social platform to celebrate as the Fulton County district attorney responded to allegations that he improperly hired his boyfriend Nathan Wade to help prosecute the former president.
Her comments followed a stunning claim from Willis’ college friend that she began her romantic relationship with Wade in 2019, three years earlier than they revealed in court documents.
‘MSNBC JUST DECLARED THAT THE GAME IS OVER ON THE FAKE FANI WILLIS CASE IN GEORGIA. ANOTHER SCAM COORDINATED WITH BIDEN’S WHITE HOUSE FOR THE PURPOSES OF ELECTORAL INTERFERENCE!!!”, the former president published in Truth Social.
The former president and Republican presidential candidate also posted video clips of multiple news organizations’ coverage of the hearing throughout Thursday afternoon with statements such as “IT’S A GAME CHANGER.”
Trump’s statement was a reference to legal analyst Caroline Polisi on MSNBC, who said new testimony contradicting Willis was “an end to her” in the former president’s election fraud trial.
It would mean that the relationship began before Wade was hired in the Georgia election interference case that Willis is pursuing against Donald Trump, and could provide a reason for a judge to disqualify them from the case.
President Trump appeared Thursday in New York City for the hush money payments case, but Trump’s Truth Social account has been following the Fani Willis case.
Trump has posted several times about Fani Willis’ hearing in Georgia, including saying “GAME OVER” when Willis, her former friend and her former prosecutor boyfriend took the stand.
Robin Yeartie’s testimony directly contradicts information provided by Willis and Wade that the relationship did not begin until after Wade was hired in November 2021.
Yeartie told the court there was “no doubt” that Willis and Wade were in a romantic relationship before the hiring, and confirmed she was “certain” about it.
Wade, in his own blockbuster testimony, said the relationship began in 2022 and he was forced to answer a series of questions about his divorce filing statements as well as his travels with Willis.
Yeartie testified that the district attorney leading Trump’s prosecution personally informed her about her romantic relationship with Wade.
The two had been friends since college in the 1990s, though their bond fractured and Yeartie is now testifying on behalf of an alleged Trump accomplice who wants to disqualify Willis and Wade from the case.
In her stunning testimony, Willis called the allegations against her “dishonest” and said she was no longer friends with a witness who claimed their relationship began three years before they testified.
Fulton County Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade faced a series of questions about out-of-town trips with Willis and the ways he and Willis paid for them.
The relationship itself is something Wade has already acknowledged and Willis filed a court filing, which came after attorney Ashleigh Merchant first filed allegations about it in an explosive filing to disqualify Willis and Wade from the case.
But the timing could prove problematic for Willis, as it speaks to a relationship that Yeartie said existed before Wade joined Willis on his staff.
She testified that Willis told her about his meeting with Wade at a court conference in 2019.
‘EM. “Willis and Mr. Wade began their romantic relationship shortly after,” she said, under questioning by Merchant.
‘When I ask you something personal, do you take that to mean romantic?’ The merchant asked.
“Yes,” she replied.
On Thursday afternoon, Willis also took the stand where she responded to “extremely offensive” allegations that she slept with her former prosecutor boyfriend Wade the first time they met.
In her stunning testimony, Willis said the salacious allegations against her were “dishonest” and insisted she was no longer friends with a witness who claimed her relationship with Wade began three years earlier than they had claimed.
