Donald Trump has said he will debate Kamala Harris on September 4.
The Republican candidate says the face-to-face meeting will take place at a stadium in Pennsylvania, but Harris has yet to confirm that this will happen.
On Friday night, Trump posted on Truth Social: “I have agreed with FoxNews to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th.”
Trump claims ABC News debate scheduled for Sept. 10 was “cancelled” when Biden dropped out of the race.
He also claimed there was a conflict of interest because he was involved in a lawsuit against ABC and anchor George Stephanopoulos, whom Trump has referred to as “Slopadopoulos.”
Donald Trump has agreed with Fox News to hold a debate with Democratic US Vice President Kamala Harris on September 4, he said in a post on Friday evening.
“The FoxNews debate will be held in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, at a site in an area to be determined,” Trump added.
He said Fox’s Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum will moderate the debate and said the rules will be similar to the previous debate in Atlanta, with one major difference.
‘The rules will be similar to the rules of my debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been treated horribly by his party – BUT WITH A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE!….’
Trump says if Harris doesn’t show up, he’ll hold a town hall with Fox News instead.
DailyMail.com has contacted Fox News for comment.
Pennsylvania – which Biden flipped Democratic in 2020 – has emerged as one of the key swing states in recent weeks after Trump was nearly assassinated at a rally in Butler on July 6.
The Commonwealth could also produce Harris’s pick for vice president, as Gov. Josh Shapiro is seen as a front-runner. His choice of Shapiro was apparently accidentally leaked by Philadelphia’s Democratic mayor on Friday.
Harris has publicly criticized Trump for doubting her commitment to debate in September on ABC.
Harris took over Biden’s 2024 campaign infrastructure after he dropped out nearly two weeks ago
Harris publicly criticized Trump for doubting her commitment to debate in September on ABC.
He had been eager to do so in the days following Biden’s disastrous June 27 debate, which ultimately led to his withdrawal from the 2024 race.
She had responded last month that she was “ready” after Fox News proposed the presidential debate between the two candidates on September 17.
After Biden dropped out of the race on July 21 and endorsed Harris, Trump said he would not debate her because she was not the official nominee.
As proof of her lack of support, she added that former President Barack Obama had not yet endorsed her, but Obama did so a day later and on Friday secured the delegate votes needed to secure the Democratic nomination.
“What happened to ‘anytime, anywhere’?” Harris asked in response to a post announcing Trump’s withdrawal from the X event.
“If you have something to say, say it to my face,” Harris later said at a campaign rally in Atlanta, Georgia, this week, receiving a strident response for her comment.
However, Trump had agreed to debate President Joe Biden at the Sept. 10 ABC debate, not Harris.
Still, he promised to debate “anytime, anywhere.”
Trump campaign communications director Steven Cheung sought to clarify Trump’s pledge after the former president backed off last week.
“Given the continued political chaos surrounding corrupt Joe Biden and the Democratic Party, the details of the general election debate cannot be finalized until Democrats formally decide on their nominee,” he said.
‘There is a strong sense among many in the Democratic Party – most notably Barack Hussein Obama – that Kamala Harris is a Marxist fraud who can’t beat President Trump, and they are still waiting for someone ‘better.’
“So it would be inappropriate to schedule things with Harris because Democrats could very well change their minds yet.”
The Democratic National Convention from August 19 to 22 will officially determine the party’s nominee for president, but Harris has already secured enough delegates.
Trump, for his part, is still trying to get by.
He has since called out ABC’s “fake news” and said he would prefer the event to air on Fox News.
