Donald Trump has described how Melania Trump poignantly watched the assassination attempt live on television in a new interview.
Trump miraculously survived the assassination attempt on 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks on July 13.
Laura Ingraham asked him how his wife Melania experienced that traumatic day from home.
“She was watching,” he said. “She was watching live. She was everywhere. She was on TV.”
Trump added that his wife can’t even talk to him about that horrible day, although he can see it as a sign that she really cares about him.

Trump added that his wife can’t even talk to him about that horrible day, although he can see it as a sign that she really cares about him.
“She can’t even talk about it. It’s okay, that means she likes me, she loves me. She could talk about it freely, I’m not really sure what’s better. Either she likes me or she loves me, that’s fine.”
Melania believed “the worst had happened” when she witnessed the shooting live because of the way the Secret Service had shot him down.
Trump continued to feel sympathy for the Secret Service agents who ultimately failed him.
“I just want to say one thing about the Secret Service… they were very brave. They were coming. Bullets were flying at me. I went down and they were… they were on top of me, there were a lot of very big, strong people on top of me.”
Trump reiterated this several times, but he understood perfectly where things went wrong on that fateful day.
“There should have been someone on the roof, there should have been communication with local law enforcement and we’re looking at this guy, who was a very disturbed person… what about the Trump fans who were yelling at him?”
Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned after assassination attempt.
Trump added that the Secret Service sniper who took out Crooks did a good job “but it should have happened nine seconds earlier.”

He added that he plans to speak with the FBI to provide a “victim statement” on Thursday.
A chat group of those supposedly protecting Trump knew that gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was among them more than 90 minutes before Trump was shot, rather than an hour as the FBI had previously claimed.
As one of the three snipers was about to end his shift around 4:26 p.m., they noticed a man they later confirmed was Crooks sitting at a picnic table.
It emerged the gunman’s father called police on the day of the shooting because Crooks failed to return from what he thought was a routine Saturday trip to the local shooting range.
And it was revealed that Crooks was at the former president’s rally three hours before he opened fire, even raising the suspicions of the Secret Service during that time because he was carrying a rangefinder used by hunters to make long-distance shots.
But he was never arrested or questioned.
He later climbed onto the roof of the building he was loitering near, shot Trump and killed retired volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore.
Crooks had told his boss he needed the day off work on Saturday and gave his colleagues one last chilling message: that he would return on Sunday.

The gunman searched the Internet for “how far away” Lee Harvey Oswald was from John F. Kennedy when he shot him, FBI Director Christopher Wray revealed in startling testimony before Congress earlier this week.
FBI Director Christopher Wray also told lawmakers that the 20-year-old gunman flew a drone 200 yards from the scene just two hours before he opened fire in Butler, Pennsylvania, and that he had three explosives in his car.
Trump managed to survive an assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and was quickly removed from the stage by the Secret Service.
The FBI’s assessment remains that Crooks, who was killed by a Secret Service sniper, acted alone.
On Tuesday, Kimberly Cheatle resigned as head of the agency amid mounting questions about its colossal security failures at the rally.
Cheatle took responsibility for the catastrophic mistakes after coming under fire from both Republicans and Democrats when she appeared before Congress on Monday.
In a stunning moment, Cheatle admitted Monday that his agents on the ground were warned between two and five times that there was a “suspicious person” reported before Trump took the stage.
The security chief had faced mounting questions about why there was no officer stationed on the roof from which Crooks opened fire on the former president, and why Trump was allowed on stage even when a threat was detected.
