Troubled boxing star Ryan Garcia showed off his quick hands to former US President Donald Trump before endorsing his “friend” ahead of this year’s election.
In a clip posted to Garcia’s social media on Friday night, the 25-year-old shadow boxed in front of a smiling Trump at what appears to be the 77-year-old’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.
‘Donald Trump 2024!’ Then Garcia screamed. Along with the video, he added a caption that read: ‘TRUMP IS MY FRIEND.’
Both Garcia and Trump have had a turbulent few weeks, with the former president standing trial in New York, not far from where Garcia enjoyed the best victory of his career.
Despite a chaotic and worrying build-up, when the 25-year-old suffered a public meltdown on social media, Garcia handed Devin Haney a first loss in a huge upset.
The 25-year-old claimed Trump would be in the fight, and even tagged the former president in his social media post.
‘He’s coming. He’s right here in Harlem,’ Garcia insisted. But there was no sign of Trump at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, even though he was in New York City all week for the start of his hush money criminal trial.
In the first criminal trial of a former US president, the 77-year-old Republican candidate faces 34 counts of falsifying business records.
Prosecutors allege the records were falsified to conceal a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels to prevent her from discussing an alleged affair before the 2016 election.
Garcia has also been involved in a lewd spectacle in recent weeks. Before beating Devin Haney, he He divorced the mother of his newborn son and then proposed to Australian porn star Savannah Bond.
