He got behind the wheel of a garbage truck on his way to the White House, and now a garbage truck will join Donald Trump’s inaugural parade.
The truck was one of Trump’s memorable stunts on the campaign trail, surpassed only by his stint working the fryer at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s to troll Kamala Harris over her remarks about working at a California McDonald’s as a student.
On January 20, the truck will travel down Pennsylvania Avenue, in a procession that includes military bands, student ensembles and horse shows, Trump’s transition confirmed. the hill.
The truck tactic gave Trump a way to hit President Biden, while increasing his appeal among working-class voters in battleground Wisconsin.
The appearance of the truck gives Trump the opportunity to troll Biden once again. (Biden will no longer be president when the parade occurs.)
The Trump transition did not provide additional details about the truck.
Biden himself had made an unforced error when responding to comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who referred to Puerto Rico during a large MAGA rally at Madison Square Garden as a “floating island of garbage.”
That led Biden to tell Latino activists that “the only trash I see floating around is your supporters, yours, your demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and un-American.”
Trump’s team seized the opportunity. Within hours, Trump was climbing into a gleaming white garbage truck emblazoned with his “Make America Great Again” logo in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Trump won the state. It was a clever photo op, although Trump may have gone too far in comparing the garbage truck driver to the spitting image of Cary Grant.
Video of Trump, 78, twice mishandling the truck’s door handle also sparked conspiracy theories.
Trump ended up winning Wisconsin, along with the rust belt battlegrounds of Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Trump’s team haggling over details of inaugural festivities
Biden’s “trash” comment took off, in part because Trump allies compared it to Hillary Clinton’s famous “basket of deplorables” line, even though Biden’s team said the president had been referring to the specific Trump supporter, not everyone.
The garbage truck may be the first to be part of an inaugural parade, although DC often uses its fleet of garbage trucks for security purposes to help block off government buildings.
Trump’s inaugural committee says there will be 7,500 participants from 23 states.
Others marching will be first responders from Butler County, Pennsylvania, where a would-be assassin shot Trump, grazing his ear.
The parade will also feature the ‘America Patriotic Tractor’ from West Des Moines, Iowa, military bands, Florida firefighters and more.
