Trump Parodies Biden’s Stage Mishap, Accuses Gavin Newsom of Plotting a 2024 Campaign during Fiery Speech Criticizing California

Donald Trump got a big laugh Friday at the California GOP’s fall convention when he mimicked a moment when President Joe Biden was confused while trying to walk off stage after a speech.

The ex-president also suggested that Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom position himself as Biden’s primary surrogate because he doesn’t think he will “make it” to the 2024 general election.

Trump told a roomful of Republicans at a ballroom in Anaheim, Calif., that their state could be “great again,” as he tore into state lawmakers and leaders. He promised that “help is on the way” to save California from communism and Marxism – if only he was elected president again in 2024.

He also criticized a series of California Democratic lawmakers and leaders and claimed that “rich people” in Beverly Hills “smell” because of strict water laws that prevent them from showering enough.

Speaking to about 1,500 attendees munching on leftover lunch, Trump said: “While California was once a symbol of American success, today, under the radical left, fascists and Marxists who run your state – they’re the ones running your state, the bad guys – it’s becoming a symbol of the decline of our nation.

He specifically called out California Governor Gavin Newsom, Vice President Kamala Harris, a former U.S. senator from California, and current California Democratic Representatives Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell.

Just two days after skipping the second Republican debate in Southern California, Trump flew out to stake his claim in the primary race over the deep blue state.

The ex-president laughed hard when he imitated a moment when a confused Biden seemed unable to get off stage.

Trump appeared to assert that Biden would not be the Democratic nominee for 2024, even though the incumbent is currently running virtually unopposed in the primaries. But the ex-president thinks the Democratic field is about to get a lot more crowded — and that Newsom will be at the head of the pack.

In the March 5 state primary, any candidate who garners more than 50 percent of the vote will win all the delegates — instead of the previous split where candidates could win three delegates in each California congressional district.

In the past, several candidates left California primaries with at least a few delegates under their belt. And now, if that 50% threshold is reached, Trump will likely walk away with all of them.

Trump spent his time on stage Friday afternoon denouncing a series of liberal lawmakers in the Golden State by saying their leadership had ruined California.

“The far-left communists in Sacramento, San Francisco, and Los Angeles – cities that are being destroyed at high speed and on a daily basis – have given you sanctuary cities, wide open borders, massive homeless encampments, out of control taxes, skyrocketing incomes, inequality like no one has ever seen before, Marxist prosecutors, woke tech tyrants – they are woke – power outages, child sexual mutilation and roaming gangs of looters, criminals and thugs,” Trump listed.

He quipped: “But other than that, I think they’re doing a really good job.”
