President-elect Donald Trump has reportedly offered the position of US ambassador to the United Nations to Elise Stefanik.

According to two sources who spoke with cnnThe House Republican and ally of the president was offered the job on Sunday.

If the New York representative were to accept, she would assume the role previously held by Nikki Haley, who ran against Trump in the Republican primary.

Stefanik had appeared at Trump’s now infamous rally inside Madison Square Garden last month as the race for the White House intensified.

In recent years, Stefanik, the highest-ranking Republican woman in the House, has been one of her closest allies.

Earlier this year, he filed a misconduct complaint against the judge who oversaw his hush money trial, alleging that his selection was “not at all random.”

Stefanik had requested an investigation into Judge Juan Merchán to “determine whether the required random selection process was actually followed.”

She has alleged that Merchan, who she claims is a Democratic Party donor, has repeatedly been assigned to criminal cases linked to Trump and his allies.

In a follow-up letter in September, he said that “new information has come to light that warrants a fresh look at Judge Merchan’s conflict.”

The new complaint alleged that Merchan should recuse herself from the case since her daughter, Lauren Merchan, is the president of a company that Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign has paid and will therefore benefit from the trial.

She specifically highlights how new filings from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) indicate that Lauren Merchan’s company, Authentic Campaigns Inc., received $468 from the Harris campaign for web hosting services.

Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts in the landmark criminal trial, and Merchan is expected to decide this week whether Trump’s conviction should be overturned in light of the Supreme Court’s July ruling on presidential immunity.

Merchan must also decide whether to move forward with Trump’s sentencing on Nov. 26 as currently scheduled.

A favorable ruling for Trump on the immunity issue or a delay in sentencing would pave the way for him to return to the White House largely free of what once seemed to threaten his ambitions to retake the White House.

It comes after Trump announced that Susie Wiles would be his White House chief of staff.

The ‘Ice Baby’ – as she has been nicknamed – will be the first female chief of staff in the history of the United States.

The 67-year-old led the campaign that propelled him to a historic election victory over Democrat Kamala Harris on Tuesday night.

Wiles led his career behind the scenes and is one of the most feared and effective political operatives in the country.

The key aide appeared alongside him as he declared victory over Kamala Harris with his family and staff last week in West Palm Beach, Florida.
