Donald Trump sent shockwaves around the world Monday evening by threatening massive tariffs on China, Canada and Mexico on his first day back in the White House.
The president-elect said he would impose 25 percent tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports until they control drugs and migrants crossing the border.
Trump separately outlined “an additional 10 percent tariff, above any additional tariffs” on imports from China.
The move sent shockwaves through global markets overnight and prompted a phone call to Trump from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
