Trump makes North Carolina GOP conference wait for his comeback speech as he flies in with Lara and tells his supporters ‘we’re going to take back the Senate and the House’
Donald Trump has delivered a speech promising to “take back the Senate, the House and the White House” ahead of his first speech since February.
In a video shared shortly before the former president’s appearance at the North Carolina Republican Convention in Greenville Saturday night, Trump said: “I want to thank everyone for the tremendous support you have shown. We’re going to take back the Senate, we’re going to take back the House, we’re going to take back the White House and sooner than you think it’s gonna be something really special.
“But the love and the affection and the respect you’ve given us all. It’s really important. The Republican Party is stronger than it has ever been and it seems to be getting a lot stronger than it is now. We’re going to turn it around, we’re going to turn it around so many times.”
A leaked clip of Trump’s blockbuster speech shared with DailyMail.com will have him claim that America’s survival hinges on Republicans’ big win in the 2022 midterm elections.
Trump will say, “America’s survival depends on our ability to elect Republicans at every level — starting with the midterm elections next year,” he will say, according to preliminary extracts obtained by DailyMail.com.
“Together we are going to defend our freedoms, we are going to stand up for our values, and we are going to take back our country!”
The ex-president’s speech will be his first since February — when he addressed CPAC in Orlando — and only the second since he left the White House on January 20.
Here you can see Trump leaving Trump Tower, where he is seen about once a week as he embarks on the next phase of his political career. Last month, he moved his base of operations from his winter home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, to his golf club in Bedminister, New Jersey.
