Donald Trump’s inner circle fears he could lose control of ‘First Buddy’ Elon Musk after the billionaire publicly criticized the president’s AI project.

Tesla founder Musk has had unprecedented access to Trump both during his 2024 campaign and since he won the November election, revealing he joined the president in the Oval Office on Tuesday as he signed executive orders.

But MAGA insiders exposed it Politics there are concerns that Musk could continue to move after recently mocking a $500 billion AI investment that Trump had praised as “monumental” and “amazing.”

“The problem is that the president has no influence over him and Elon doesn’t give a fuck,” the insider said.

“It’s clear he took advantage of his proximity to the president.”

Trump stood shoulder to shoulder earlier this week with Musk’s nemesis Sam Altman of OpenAI, Larry Ellison of Oracle and Masayoshi Son of Softbank as he touted a massive AI investment in the US expected to total $500 billion.

Musk was nowhere to be seen, later writing on his social media platform X: “They don’t actually have the money.

‘SoftBank has secured more than $10 billion. I have that on good authority.”

Musk also called Altman a “con” and a “liar” and shared a post applauding Trump’s 2020 election loss.

Trump was later asked about Musk’s dissent, but dismissed any concerns by pointing out that Musk “hates one of the people in the deal.”

He insisted that “they are putting the money aside.”

‘The government means nothing. They bet money. They’re very rich people, so I hope they do that too. And I mean, Elon doesn’t like any of those people.”

Altman himself also shot back at Musk, writing about ‘

A Republican insider said Trump’s staff is privately “furious” about Musk’s comments, given his huge following and reach.

Steve Bannon, a former top aide to Trump who has had public spats with Musk in the past, told Politico that Musk should “sit down the table” and tell him to “fix it immediately.”

It has also fueled fears that Trump and Musk are heading for monumental fallout that could spell disaster for the new administration.

Musk heads Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, charged with reducing government spending and improving productivity within public services.

He has also become a familiar face at Mar-a-Lago and has been working out of the West Wing this week, according to the publication, despite the president’s assurances that he will not have his own office.

Musk revealed Wednesday that he was in the Oval Office with Trump when he signed an executive order pardoning Ross Ulbricht.

Ulbricht, 40, was arrested in 2013 because the shady website he founded facilitated the sale of illegal drugs using cryptocurrency.

“I was honored to be in the Oval Office tonight when @POTUS signed this,” the Tesla founder wrote on X in response to the pardon.

In early 2015, Ulbricht was sentenced to two life sentences plus 40 years for drug trafficking, conspiracy to commit money laundering and computer hacking, operating under the pseudonym ‘Dread Pirate Roberts’.

Trump unconditionally pardoned Ulbricht, the creator of the infamous dark webpage Silk Road, in praise of the “Libertarian Movement” while heavily criticizing the “scum” who persecuted him.
