Donald Trump appeared at the Republican convention in Milwaukee for the first time less than three days after surviving an assassination attempt.
The former president wore a bandage on his right ear, where the bullet fired by Thomas Matthew Crooks pierced the skin.
The crowd of adoring Republicans erupted in joy as their newly anointed presidential candidate appeared on the screens and then entered his family box.
The crowd erupted in thunderous applause and began chanting “fight, fight, fight,” echoing his words moments after Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at his rally in Pennsylvania.
Tim Scott told the crowd before Trump left: ‘If you didn’t believe in miracles before Saturday, you better believe them right now… Because on Saturday, the devil came to Pennsylvania with a rifle, but an AMERICAN LION stood up and ROARED…’

“Have you ever been in a town with electricity? That man can light up a town,” said Debbie Epling, chairwoman of the Aiken County Republican Party in South Carolina.
And that was before Saturday. The fact that the leader of the MAGA movement turned his head just as a would-be assassin’s bullet was headed toward his head has not gone unnoticed by his supporters.
“Divine intervention,” said Epling, sporting a bright red, white and blue hat. “People should take note, because it’s important.”
Others went even further, seeing religious significance even in the date of Saturday and in the attempted assassination of a Pope.
“July 13 was the same date the Holy Mother revealed the third secret of Fatima,” said one Catholic attendee, as he waited in line to buy a hamburger at the sports stadium concessions.
That was the date in 1917 when the Virgin Mary appeared to three Portuguese children, entrusting them with her prophecies.
Republicans gathered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for their four-day convention and the official nomination of Trump as their candidate for the November presidential election.

The vision predicted an attack on a “bishop dressed in white” and was only revealed in 2000, 19 years after an assassin tried to kill Pope John Paul II.
“This can’t be made up,” said the Republican in a suit as the line moved slowly forward.
The convention began with the bang of a gavel, followed by a prayer and then Trump’s appropriated anthem, “God Bless the USA.”
As the notes of the song faded, delegates in the chamber repeated Trump’s defiant words. “Fight, fight, fight,” they chanted, an echo of the words he shouted as he stood up on Saturday, blood streaming down his face.
It was just one of the ways shock, relief and ultimately celebration Saturday permeated proceedings at Fiserv Forum, home of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Trump’s fingerprints were everywhere, from the merchant making the sales to the roster of speakers who mostly grew up under Trump and rose to prominence as America First Republicans.
Even the list of states that announced their support for the candidate became a family affair.
Senator JD Vance arrived at the convention grounds in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, two hours after Donald Trump named him as his running mate.
It was Eric Trump, standing alongside his brother Don Jr., who put their father over the top, officially securing the nomination before Florida delegates.
‘On behalf of our entire family and on behalf of the 125 delegates in the incredible state of Florida, we hereby nominate each and every one of them for the greatest president who has ever lived, and that is Donald J. Trump, hereby declaring him the Republican nominee for President of the United States of America.’
It was a matter of procedure, a bit of bookkeeping. However, the crowd went wild and started chanting: “Fight, fight, fight.”
Bill Kolo, 56, a delegate from Connecticut, said no “mere mortal” could recover the way Trump did on Saturday.
“He has been persecuted more than, in my opinion, any other person since Jesus Christ,” he said.
“And somehow he gets up every day, when everything is thrown at him from every level, and he still stays, speaks and fights for us.”
