Former President Donald Trump called prosecutor Jack Smith a “deranged lunatic” after the judge in his election interference case released more evidence of the allegations against him.
The 1,900-page dossier included how the then-president drank soda while watching a mob of his supporters ransack the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, as well as descriptions of his conversations with family members and aides.
Trump said the decision to release the information now, just two weeks before Election Day, amounted to election interference.
“He’s a deranged lunatic,” Trump told reporters after landing in Detroit for a campaign rally, noting that Smith had been unable to prosecute him over documents found at Mar-a-Lago after the case was dismissed by a judge in July. .
‘There is no case. I did absolutely nothing wrong. He is a disturbed person.
Former President Donald Trump spoke to reporters after landing in Detroit, Michigan.
‘Do you know what it is? It’s called electoral hunting. That’s all they are doing. Electoral hunt.
‘The militarization of the justice system and the people know it. Nothing was published. Nothing has been published.
Many of the published pages were blacked out and marked “sealed,” but they also included material referenced in a lengthy court filing from earlier this month in which the special counsel argued that Trump was not immune from charges in the case.
The unsealed documents include details of interviews conducted by the Congressional investigation into the Jan. 6 violence.
The names of the witnesses were crossed out.
Trump has pleaded not guilty to four criminal charges accusing him of conspiring to obstruct the process of certifying the results of his 2020 loss to Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
Their lawyers had argued that none of the material should be released before the Nov. 5 election and managed to delay its release by a week.
Special prosecutor Jack Smith charges Trump with multiple counts of conspiracy to obstruct the process to certify the results of his 2020 loss to Democratic candidate Joe Biden. Trump has pleaded guilty to all charges.
The 1,900 pages of documents include blank pages marked “sealed.” The names of witnesses have also been redacted.
The released evidence offers insight into how Smith is prosecuting Trump.
The pages include a transcript of the House committee’s Jan. 6 interview with a White House staffer.
It details how the staffer told Trump that television networks had abandoned his speech because of the “riot at the Capitol.”
‘And he was like, What do you mean? I said, ‘It’s like they’re rioting there at the Capitol,'” the employee said.
‘And he was like, Oh, really? And then he said: Okay, let’s see.
“I’m taking off the outer coat he’s wearing right now, setting up the TV, handing him the remote and he starts watching it.

And I went out to get him a Diet Coke, came back in and that was it for me as he looked at it and saw for himself.
The post infuriated Trump’s advisers.
Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said: “Radical Democrats are hell-bent on interfering in the presidential election on behalf of the lying Kamala Harris.” With just over two weeks until Election Day, President Trump is dominating this race and crazed liberals across the Deep State are freaking out.
‘As mandated by the Supreme Court’s landmark decision on presidential immunity and other vital jurisprudence, this entire case is a partisan, unconstitutional sham and witch hunt that should be dismissed entirely, as should ALL remaining Democratic hoaxes .’
