And a report from the United Nations found last year that nearly 900 medals in women’s sports were won by biological men.
The report showed that until March 30, 2024, “more than 600 female athletes in more than 400 games have lost more than 890 medals in 29 different sports.”
“The replacement of the female sports category with a category Mixed Gender has led to an increasing number of female athletes losing opportunities, including medals, when they compete against men, wrote special rapporteur Reem Alsalem.
The BIDEN administration tried to extend the protection for LGBTQ+ students, including the expansion of Title IX, a 1972 law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education, to also prevent discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation.
Republicans claimed that the expansion was a list to allow transgender student athletes to play in athletic teams of girls. The White House insisted that the new title IX rule did not apply to athletics.
But several states challenged the Biden change in court and last month a federal court dropped it.
Biden had plans to make a separate rule specifically about transgender athletes, but stated that when Trump began to use the issue to Harris, who eventually lost the 2024 presidential election.
Since his appointment, President Trump has signed a whole series of executive orders connected to gender identity.

The order said it refers to treatments, including puberty blockers, hormones such as estrogen or testosterone, as well as surgical procedures.
Many of the orders of Trump are expected to be challenged in court.
