Trump demands that Stormy Daniels’ case be moved to Staten Island – away from ‘unfair’ Manhattan

Date:

Donald Trump demanded that Stormy Daniels’ financial case be moved from Manhattan to more Republican-friendly Staten Island just hours before his historic impeachment.

The former president tore through the judge’s anti-Trump sentiments on the Truth Social and said the new site would be “very fair and safe,” as protesters and the world’s media overrun the Manhattan courthouse where he will turn himself in this afternoon.

He also noted that Judge Juan Merchan’s daughter, Lorraine Merchan, worked on Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2020 presidential campaign, deepening the alleged bias against him.

Trump, who continues to rise in the polls ahead of the formal impeachment Tuesday, will be accompanied throughout the entire impeachment process by his Secret Service detail.

In a Truth Social post Tuesday morning, Donald Trump demanded that the Stormy Daniels Hush Money case be moved from “unfair” Manhattan to the more Republican-friendly town in Staten Island.

Trump described the proceedings as “kangaroo court” in a post shortly before he was submitted to Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, both supporters and opponents gathered outside the courtroom on Tuesday to demonstrate.

The Tuesday morning post continued with the former CEO claiming the judge in Stormy Daniels’ “hush money” case is a “Trump hater” with a bias against him.

The former president arrived at Trump Tower in Manhattan on Monday before formal charges were filed against him on Tuesday.

After being charged, Trump will immediately return to his Mar-a-Lago property and deliver remarks from his Palm Beach, Florida, club.

The former president is expected to leave Trump Tower for the courthouse downtown on Monday morning, flanked by the Secret Service and an NYPD motorcade that will lead to incessant road closures.

Trump’s campaign spent the last minutes leading up to his courtroom Tuesday morning by pushing through a fundraising email after raising a staggering $8 million in the four days after his indictment was announced.

The last batch of contributions before Trump was formally charged was labeled: “The last email I sent before I was arrested.”

“Our movement has overcome many,” the email noted. “And there is no doubt in my mind that we will win again and win the White House in 2024.”

There is a button that supporters can donate to the campaign claiming that money given now has “1,500% impact” than being sent at other times.

The Truth Social laments the post Tuesday morning: “A very unfair place, with some districts that voted 1% Republican. This case should be moved to nearby Staten Island—it would be a very fair and safe site for the trial.”

“In addition, the partisan judge and his family are well known Trump haters,” the former president added. He was an unfair disaster in a previous Trump-related case, wouldn’t back down, gave terrible instructions to the jury, and would have been impossible to handle during the witch hunt trial. His daughter worked for Kamala and is now on the Biden-Harris campaign. “

“Kangaroo Stadium!!!” He finished.

Judge Merchan’s daughter Lauren served as the digital director for Harris’ 2020 presidential campaign. She was with the campaign from February 2019 until December of the same year.

Lauren Merchant has finished campaigning to move into the same role at Authentic, a digital strategy firm for progressives. She moved up the ladder over five years with the company and is now Partner, President and COO of Authentic Campaigns.

In the Manhattan courtroom, reporters from around the world lined up all night Monday through Tuesday to secure their spot in the courtroom.

Trump posted on Tuesday morning, writing again in all caps, that Democrats have “criminalized the justice system,” as his defenders have repeatedly claimed the Manhattan case against him is “politically motivated.”

“This is not what America was meant to be!” Trump wrote on his social media platform.

Protesters from both sides descended on the Criminal Court building and were separated by NYPD barricades just after dawn.

Chaos ensued early on as protesters from opposing sides clashed, with one Trump fan throwing herself at an anti-Trump banner and trying to tear it down.

“You’re on the wrong side!” shouted the anti-Trump crowd, clutching at the flag the woman was trying to remove in a clumsy tug-of-war.

Trump, more than a week before he was impeached, told his supporters to “protest, protest, protest,” and warned them a few days later of “death and destruction” if charged.

The Manhattan case stems from the $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, from Trump’s aide and attorney at the time Michael Cohen.

Trump maintains he never had a sexual relationship with Daniels and was unaware that the payment to Cohen for legal fees was actually a silent payment to keep the porn star quiet during the 2016 election.

The charges attempt to bring the payments from a possible misdemeanor to a criminal charge for alleged violations of campaign finance laws related to fraud.
