Since then it has been replaced by a photo that was actually taken on Sunday.

The original photo is available in Getty Image’s online archives and was used by various media this week to promote Trump’s presence on Daytona 500.

The original photographer, Jonathan Ferrey, told CNN: ‘This year I have many talented colleagues who photograph the Daytona 500. Unfortunately I am not here today, but apparently I won the Daytona 500 photography before the race even started. ”

Trump had given an election year hug to NASCAR and his fans when he arrived at the circuit.

The presidential motorcade hit the road to take part in a warm-up lap after telling the public that the racers and their teams were competing for “pure American glory.”

After reciting the opening command, “Lord, start your engines,” Trump stepped into his black limousine for a ceremonial turn around the speedway.

Moments earlier in a Fox interview he had joked that as president he was not allowed to drive his own car: ‘I am going to jump into one of these cars and, if possible, go into this race. I love the idea. “

The motorcade lasted about a quarter of a round before moving aside in an intermediate area.

Asked what it was about NASCAR that he enjoyed the most, the president said, “I think it’s really the courage of these people … it takes a lot of courage.”
