Republican challenger and accused criminal Donald Trump lashed out at Fulton County Prosecutor Fani Willis, calling her affair with prosecutor Nathan Wade a “major league scandal.”
The former president, 77, went on Truth Social this morning and called for her and the others leading what he describes as “this witch hunt” to be “immediately terminated and permanently erased from everyone’s memory.”
Fani Willis has been accused of misconduct that could see her withdrawn from the election interference case against Trump, following accusations that she had an affair with Nathan Wade, a married man, who has been described as “an old friend” of the prosecutor of the district.
He hired his firm, Wade & Campbell, to help lead the prosecution of the election subversion case that was filed in Georgia in August 2023.
The couple was accused, in a lawsuit filed by Michael Roman, a former Trump campaign official who is a co-defendant in the election subversion case, of having “an inappropriate and clandestine personal relationship” and of using taxpayer money that was paid to Wade for his legal services in financing vacations to the Bahamas.

Donald Trump is currently involved in four major legal cases as he runs for president.
“I can’t believe the judiciary of the state of Georgia, or the governor, could be happy with this humiliating embarrassment,” Trump told his Truth Social supporters.
“The stench of what happened should no longer embarrass Georgia. She Should Return to GREATNESS and FAST!!!’
His comments came a day after Willis testified in a Fulton County court on Thursday, indicating that his “physical” relationship with Wade ended before Donald Trump and 18 of his associates were charged with racketeering conspiracy.
But it was not entirely clear whether the relationship itself had completely ended before the explosive accusation.
Deep into her testimony about the “romantic” relationship she did not reveal to colleagues and when it began, Wills came under pressure when the couple split, after revelations that they were a couple opened Trump’s prosecutions in Georgia.
“The romantic relationship ended before the indictment was handed down, yes or no?” Trump attorney Steven Sadow asked inside a Fulton County courthouse on Friday.
“To a man, yes,” she said, indicating that the “physical” relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade had ended at that point.
‘A man yes, not you?’ Sadow continued.
—Did the next accusation have anything to do with that? she pressed her.
A lawyer for Donald Trump asked Wade about the source of the cash he said Willis gave him, and whether Willis simply took cash out of his pocket. “I didn’t ask him,” he said.
Willis had set out his views on the differences between men and women that were crucial to his answer. It was one of many times the district attorney offered flashy and sometimes superfluous information at the blockbuster hearing, including his preference for Gray Goose vodka, the fact that he kept a stash of up to $15,000 in cash in his home and did not He ventured to guess which continent Belize was on after traveling there with his llama.
“Let’s go ahead and have a conversation,” Willis said.

In either scenario, the district attorney and the prosecutor who signed a contract to help lead her team were jointly committed to the task even while maintaining a relationship.

Wade and Willis each testified that the romantic relationship began in 2022, after she brought him in.
The two also said they met at a court conference in 2019, although Willis strongly denied having any relations with Wade at the time.
“I’m not being judged, no matter how much you try to put me on trial,” she told Merchant.
Sadow also questioned Wade about the end of the relationship, asking if he had “any personal relationship” at the time.
‘Are you asking me if I had sex with the district attorney?’ Wade responded.
‘The answer would be no.’

Conservative critics piled on the district attorney almost immediately.
