Donald Trump claimed at a rally in Pennsylvania that he is “more handsome” than his presidential rival Kamala Harris.
Trump, 78, began reflecting on Harris’ recent image on the cover of Time magazine, whom he previously compared to his wife Melania, at a rally Saturday in Wilkes Barre.
This time, she commented on the image’s resemblance to classic Hollywood icons Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor and then took issue with a Wall Street Journal columnist who commented earlier this month on Harris’ beauty.
“I’m a lot better looking than her,” Trump said, drawing laughter from the audience. “I’m a better looking person than Kamala.”
One MAGA supporter saw humor in Trump’s comments, writing on social media: “Comedians around the world will study this man’s brain for years. They work for years to be funny and they don’t come close to matching his level.”

Trump, 78, began reflecting on Harris’ recent image on the cover of Time magazine, whom he has previously compared to his wife Melania, at a rally Saturday in Wilkes Barre.
However, many others attacked the president for the comparison between his appearance and Harris’s, with one highlighting the previous comparison he made between Harris and Melania.
Trump literally said that Kamala’s photo in Time magazine was so beautiful that it reminded him of Melania. Now Trump says he’s more handsome than his wife?
Trump also questioned the way his style is often portrayed in press reports during his speech in Pennsylvania.
“They’ll say I’m rambling, but I wasn’t rambling. I’m a very intelligent guy,” he said.
Trump’s attacks have tended to be personal recently, last week launching… a barrage of mockery towards Mountain Senator Jon Tester’s weight during his rally in his home state.
“I don’t speak ill of someone’s physical disability,” Trump said, possibly noting that Tester lost three fingers on one hand in a meat grinder accident when he was nine.
“But he has the biggest stomach I’ve ever seen,” Trump added.
While attacking Tester’s weight, Trump mobilized his supporters by criticizing the senator on issues ranging from the southern border to his voting record.

Trump’s comments about Harris’ appearance appear to have come as the vice president appeared on the cover of Time magazine despite continuing to refuse to give one-on-one interviews.
The magazine used an illustration of Harris with the headline “Her Time” and Trump commented that he felt she looked like a familiar face when she spoke to Musk during their conversation at X Spaces.
“She looked a lot like our great first lady, Melania,” Trump told Musk as they discussed the cover image for Monday’s issue.
Trump also appeared to mispronounce Kamala’s name, although this time it sounded more like “Camilla.”
“It didn’t look like Camilla, but of course she’s a beautiful woman, so we’ll leave it at that,” Trump said of the cover.
Time’s new cover story on Harris features the phrase “Her moment” alongside a black-and-white illustration of the vice president.
Trump highlighted this, calling it “a benefit” from the media and that the image presented her as if she were “the most beautiful actress who ever lived.”
The magazine has faced some criticism for publishing the story, for which Harris declined to be interviewed, amid Republican outrage that she has not given a media interview since Biden left the campaign, leaving his place to her.
Trump’s attacks have tended to be personal lately; last week he launched a volley of taunts about Montana Sen. Jon Tester’s weight during his rally in Tester’s home state.
Saturday’s rally was Trump’s fifth at the stadium in Wilkes-Barre, the largest city in Luzerne County, where he has scored victories in the past two elections.
Biden outperformed Trump in neighboring Lackawanna County, where the Democrat has long promoted his working-class roots in Scranton.
On Sunday, Harris plans a bus tour that will begin in Pittsburgh, with a stop in Rochester, a small city to the north.
Trump has scheduled a visit on Monday to a plant that makes nuclear fuel containers in York.
The former president’s running mate, JD Vance, is expected to be in Philadelphia that day.
His comments Saturday came as Democrats prepare for their four-day meeting. national convention which begins Monday in Chicago and will mark the party’s welcome of Harris as its nominee.
His replacement of Biden less than four months before the November election has reinvigorated Democrats and their coalition, but also presented a new challenge for Trump.
