The Gold Coast ‘shamanic healer’ who died of a suspected drug overdose at her 40th birthday party has been the target of vile trolls.
Grieving friends of Danni Whittaker have angrily criticized the tsunami of vicious attacks on social media following her tragic death in Surfers Paradise last Friday.
Whittaker’s own Instagram and Facebook pages, as well as the social media sites of television stations and a media outlet, have been inundated with heartless comments.
Thousands of posts and mocking emojis, including more than 100 laughing emojis on one site, have been posted online since Whittaker went into cardiac arrest and died inside the Meriton Suites apartment around 11 p.m.
She was reportedly celebrating her birthday with six friends, two of whom were later admitted to hospital after taking an “extremely potent” drug cocktail.
But hundreds of trolls have jumped on her death, criticizing her for taking drugs and criticizing her for being “old enough to know better.”

Danni was reportedly celebrating her birthday with six friends, two of whom were later admitted to hospital after taking an “extremely potent” drug cocktail.
“I have no compassion for drug addicts,” one troll added when people asked why others were laughing and posting his brutal comments and emojis.
Several people called partygoers “stupid” for doing drugs and one man commented “they’re not 5.”
Another said that anyone “…with half a brain would have outgrown that behavior by 40. Unfortunate.”
Others said it was better to “stick with the beer” or just “have a shandy”, while one woman questioned taking “a cocktail of drugs at 40”.
And he added: “A line or five of coke and some bubbles is more than enough.”
Friends and followers have defended Ms Whittaker and branded the trolls as “truly heartless and judgmental people”.
One said she hoped Danni “was at peace; I’m sending so much light, love and strength to her family.”
Danni Whittaker had predicted that spiritual forces would make 2024 the year everything would change for the better and that she was entering the new ‘Naughty 40’.
A friend of Mrs. Whittaker who created a GoFundMe page to repatriate Danni’s remains to New Zealand said people “should not speculate or pass judgment” and that trolling was “hurtful to grieving loved ones”.
Danni could not be revived at the scene and was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived at the unit on Friday night.
Two other women were also taken to the hospital. One remains in intensive care, while the second woman has already been discharged.
Queensland Police Superintendent Peter Miles confirmed that cannabis, ketamine and mushroom capsule residue were found in the suite.
Danni said her spiritual awakening meant this year was “the year of not holding back.” The year of truth! The year of killing the most damn demons.
Danni said that the forces of the universe were changing and that this year she would achieve divine love and success and that it was “time for a massive change.”
Superintendent Miles said the Gold Coast was awash in drugs.
“We are seeing overdoses,” he said.
“It’s not a particular drug, it could be GHB, it could be ketamine, heroin is coming back a little bit.” “We are seeing a lot of drugs in the community.”
The tragedy comes after Whittaker predicted that 2024 would be the year his life would magically change for the better.
In exuberant posts on her Facebook and Instagram pages, Danni described the year 2024 as “starting with a bang.” 2024!!!! Who’s fucking excited?
He posted online that “divine” powers would give him love and success this year.
“(It’s) the year to keep it real,” Ms. Whittaker wrote. ‘The year of not taking shit! The year of divine love and light.
‘What magic is to come. What a time to be alive!! Truly the best is yet to come. I know it, I’ve seen it!’
Danni had participated in bodybuilding competitions in the past and even met Arnold Schwarzenegger at an event in Brisbane.
In the weeks before her drug overdose at her own 40th birthday party, Danni posted online that 2024 was “the year to not hold back.”
And the Queensland businesswoman’s certainty that mystical forces were propelling her life toward greater things was linked to her reaching “the big 4-0.”
About her long-awaited birthday last week, she posted: ‘Age is just a number! Stay 8 forever. We’re here to have fun, idiots.
‘The universe is forcing me to do what I was always supposed to do! And it’s a fucked up vibe.”
Last week, friends posted birthday wishes on her Facebook page celebrating her becoming a “vintage model.”
Days later, the same people were posting about their grief for the woman who was “forever 40.”
In a Facebook video she posted last October, Danni asked about the illegality of some drugs and wondered why “we can’t have a mushroom or a leaf.” A plant? But we can consume alcohol, cigarettes and vaporizers. Think about it.’
Danni revealed that 2023 had been difficult for everyone, but had forced her to “go on this journey of self-awareness, personal development and spirituality.”
Paramedics said Danni could not be revived at the scene after they were called at around 11pm last Friday to the flat where Ms Whittaker, who was already in cardiac arrest, was staying.
‘Last year was one of growth. Lessons, shadows, self-awareness, strength, trials, connections, pain and love,” he posted in January.
‘To prepare for this year in which our work will bear fruit. And this year we have the power of the dragons on our side.’
Danni asked her friends online, “Who’s excited and feeling the energy shift?” and he told them ‘Yes, voodoo woodoo Danni is on!
‘So hold your mother, you damn horses, because it’s all happening.
“It’s time for massive change.”
Danni, who moved from New Zealand to Brisbane and then the Gold Coast, enjoys a day (above) with friends on a boat in December 2022.
