- Truck driver charged with alleged traffic violations
- Khoda Mokbel is said to have crossed double white lines
- Police said he tested positive for drugs upon his arrest
A truck driver has been arrested and charged after allegedly swerving into oncoming traffic to overtake and forcing another car off the road.
Khoda Mokbel, 41, was tracked down after the near miss on Old Northern Road in Glenorie, Sydney’s northwest, on Friday, which was captured on a dashcam.
The Padstow man was reported to have tested positive for drugs on Monday when police caught up with him at a depot in Revesby.
The dash cam footage showed how the Mokbel truck drove behind a black vehicle on the 80 km / h road on Friday around 12.30 pm.
The footage showed the truck crossing double white lines onto the opposite side of the road to overtake the dashcam vehicle and other cars in front of it.

The small car was forced into the shoulder of the road (pictured), avoiding a potentially fatal roadside accident as the truck passed
But as the truck drove down the hill on the wrong side of the road, an oncoming white SUV approached.
The smaller car had to pull off the road to avoid the truck, which reversed slowly over the double white lines as it passed the SUV, prompting another driver on the other side to get out of the way.
A motorist immediately reported the incident to Castle Hill Police and followed up three times over the weekend. Nine News reported.
Police told Daily Mail Australia that officers received a report of a lorry driving in a dangerous manner, including carrying out an illegal overtaking maneuver at Glenorie.
“Traffic and Road Patrol Command officials have launched an investigation to identify the driver of the vehicle,” the statement said.
Mokbel, who has a Victorian license, was arrested Monday morning in Revesby, where he reportedly tested positive for drugs.
Police said he also failed another drug test later conducted at Bankstown police station, “which will be further analyzed before any action is taken.”
He kept his lips tight as he exited the station as reporters bombarded him with questions about his driving and reading drug tests.
Police said Mokbel was charged with reckless/furious driving or speed/manner dangerous.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Thursday, July 20, 2023.
Police also slapped him with a 24-hour driving ban.
