Troye Sivan has branded claims that he is only touring with Charli XCX to meet people on Grindr as “genuinely homophobic”.
The 29-year-old One Of Your Girls singer didn’t mince words when responding to a since-deleted “blind article” that was picked up by TikTok account Celebritea Blinds.
He alleged that Troye’s North American Sweat tour, which he headlined with Charli XCX, was experiencing lackluster ticket sales.
He also went on to claim that Troye did not care about ticket sales and was only interested in hooking up with men through the gay dating app Grindr.
“His label doesn’t contribute at all to his tour, so he doesn’t really care about sales,” the hidden article stated.
“He’s happy to be on the road and using Grindr at every stop.”
A visibly upset Troye took to TikTok to respond to the claims.
“Straight people are getting too comfortable,” he said in the short rebuttal video.

‘I’ve released an album. I’m on tour with Charli XCX.
‘We’re playing 22 shows across the country and they’re 95 percent sold out, by the way. The only city we’re failing in is Nashville, and we’re 78 percent sold out.’
Troye added that he didn’t need an app to cultivate relationships.
“To say that I’m traveling around the country to get on Grindr at every stop is really homophobic, a real stereotype,” he said.

“Don’t shame me for my sexuality. I don’t need to travel across the country to have sex. I can have sex anywhere I want. I can have sex in Los Angeles.”
As he said goodbye, he reiterated that tickets for the 22-date tour were already being sold.
“I’m going on tour because I put out an album and people are buying tickets to see the show, so fuck it,” he said.
To coincide with the tour, Charli XCX this week released a new remixed version of her BRAT album track Talk Talk featuring Troye.
The pair will perform at several stadiums across North America, including New York City’s Madison Square Garden on September 23 and Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on October 15.

While the Sweat tour won’t be coming to Australia, Troye will be returning home in November for his first Australian headlining tour in five years.
She will kick off her Something To Give Each Other tour in Perth on Sunday 17 November, before heading to Adelaide on Tuesday 19 November.
She will then travel to Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl for a concert on Thursday 21 November, before taking a few days off before her performance in Brisbane at Riverstage on Tuesday 26 November.
