Married At First Sight’s Tristan Black and Cassandra Allen have called it quits after struggling to make a connection on the Channel Nine dating show.

The couple ultimately made the decision to end their relationship, with both writing “leaving” during Sunday night’s engagement ceremony.

Tristan shared his feelings of rejection and withdrawal after confessing his love to Cass.

“I told someone I was falling in love with them, and then I guess I was kind of rejected, and then, you know, I kind of backed away,” he admitted.

This admission came after a week of reflection, leading them to the painful conclusion that their relationship could not go beyond friendship.

Cass, for her part, expressed a mixture of sadness and disappointment but acknowledged the significance of their separation.

“We spent this week thinking about our relationship. And last night we decided that we were ready to accept that we were just going to be friends,” she told the experts.

The couple’s conversation, described by Tristan as a form of closure, revealed a mutual understanding and acceptance of their situation.

“We just kind of had a discussion about it. It’s like where are we really? We talked about it. For me, it was a bit like closure. It’s like we’re both on the same page. If that makes sense, Tristan added.

In a bittersweet farewell, Cass offered Tristan words of encouragement, suggesting that his future partner would be incredibly lucky.

Tristan responded by sincerely acknowledging Cass’ impact on his life, expressing gratitude despite the heartbreak.

“Cass, you broke my heart, but I’m glad you were the one who broke my heart.” You know, you’re the first person I told that I fell in love. And anyway, it didn’t work, you’re stuck in my life forever. And maybe a little longer, I can work on myself, and maybe we can reconnect in the future,” he shared.
