<pre><pre>TripIt receives Google assistance and Alexa support

Fans of travel planning app TripIt can now access their travel data directly Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, with the company that is currently starting integrations for both smart assistant platforms, through Android police.

Adding TripIt works just like any other Alexa or Google Assistant integration: users will have to open the corresponding app for their chosen service and add TripIt there, after which it should be available through all your connected smart speakers and devices.

Once you've set it up, you can ask the Google Assistant or Alexa such as when your flight starts or what the weather is like at your destination. None of this is new information that you could not already get by opening the TripIt app, but if you have your hands full with luggage or running around in an attempt to pack, then the hands-free option is to find out when taking off your flight can be useful.

The full list of questions that the TripIt integration can answer is shown below:

  • What is my flight overview?
  • What time is my flight?
  • What is my airline?
  • What kind of aircraft do I fly on?
  • What is the weather like at my destination?
  • Which seat do I have?
  • What is the duration of my flight?
  • When will I arrive?

TripIt Pro (which costs $ 49 a year but adds real-time flight statuses to the app) users can also get their smart assistants for additional information provided by their paid subscriptions:

  • TripIt ProWhat is the status of my flight?
  • When should I leave for the airport?
  • Which terminal is my flight in?
  • Where's my port?
