A young trick-or-treater showed an unexpected level of generosity this Halloween when he decided to fill an empty lolly bowl with his own candy.
Tahdyn Butterworth stopped by a home in Adelaide on Thursday when she noticed all the candy the homeowner had put out had already been taken.
So the 11-year-old selflessly decided to reach into his bag and pull out two large handfuls of candy to fill the bowl for the next visitors.
Taydyn’s act of kindness was caught by the home’s Ring camera at the door, and the 11-year-old smiled and waved at the camera before leaving.
“I was going to pick up candy, but there wasn’t any there, so I grabbed some of mine, like two handfuls,” she told Seven News.
The video of Tahdyn filling the bowl went viral on social media, where dozens of people applauded the young man for sharing his haul.
“He will become a caring and thoughtful gentleman… A little legend,” said one woman.

The 11-year-old boy’s act of generosity was caught on the doorbell camera.
‘I saw a lot of kids doing this. Even sharing his own bucket with other street children. Children are usually kind-hearted. Congratulations to this young man,” added a second.
“He’s going for the right team,” said a third, pointing out Tahdyn’s Adelaide Crows AFL jersey.
