‘In my opinion, Ray Lindsay was the godfather of television production. Growing up and seeing his credit on Prisoner for so many years and then Ray offering him a job in January 1990 at ATV 10 Melbourne on Neighbors at the age of 17, it was a dream come true.

‘A great mentor, a true professional and an absolute gentleman. RIP, Mr. Lindsay.

Another devastated person said: ‘Ok Ray Lindsay, my deepest condolences to all the Lindsay family. Absolute legend of the first commercial in a studio drama.

“Ray, a true gentleman who was held in such high regard by all who knew him and had the privilege of working with him,” said one.
