Tributes have flooded in for Paul Danan after it was announced on Thursday that he had died aged 46.
The actor was best known for his role in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, before appearing on reality series Celebrity Love Island and Celebrity Big Brother.
A statement shared by Paul’s management and acting agents read: “It is with great sadness that we share the tragic news of the passing of @pauldanan at just 46 years old.
‘Known for his television presence, exceptional talent and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to many. His premature departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him.
‘During this difficult time, we kindly ask for respect and privacy for Paul’s family, friends and colleagues. No further comments will be made at this time.”
Among the first to share his condolences was EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney, who wrote that Paul had a “heart of gold”.

Paul previously opened up about his 2017 date with Katie, who became a close friend rather than a romantic interest.

Before his death, Paul had been running his Morning After Drama group and prison workshops helping those struggling with addiction and mental health issues.
The actor previously played Sol Patrick in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks from 1997 to 2001.
Paul’s death was announced in a statement released by his management.
He captioned the post: “It’s been a long time since I got a little closer to the Master that is our pioneer Sir William Shakespeare.”
Recalling his memories, he wrote: “We listened to your favorite song over and over in your car. It will remind me of you forever,’ with Five Star’s Rain Or Shine playing in the background.

Paul previously battled drug addiction, suffered a heroin overdose after returning from a stint in rehab, and in June revealed that his family gave him CPR after his “obsessive” vape use caused respiratory failure.
He also has a son named Deniro, who was born in September 2015.
His latest Instagram post, shared on January 9, showed Paul filming himself performing a scene from the William Shakespear film Twelfth Night.

Paul was due to appear at a plea hearing at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Thursday after being accused of being in possession of several bags of cocaine and a “quantity” of cannabis, according to court documents.
