Travis Scott debuted a new song during halftime of Ohio State’s national championship win over Notre Dame, but viewers weren’t crazy about the song and his performance.
Scott’s song “4×4” premiered during halftime of the Buckeyes’ 34-23 victory.
But viewers were impressed by the production quality of the performance as the rapper – who was stationed on the roof of Mercedes-Benz Stadium – was barely visible in the dark and performed for less than two minutes.
Meanwhile, other fans sympathized with those who were at the game in person and didn’t actually see Scott perform for them aside from watching the jumbotron.
“So Travis Scott performs his song on the roof and that’s the halftime show for the people inside?”, one asked on X.
“Imagine going to the national championship game and finding out Travis Scott is doing the halftime show, and then he just dances on the damn roof,” yet another said.

He was barely visible as he stood on the roof in the dark in an apparently pre-recorded segment

Scott attended the game Monday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia
In reality, the performance appeared to be pre-recorded, as Scott posted a promo video before the match with a trumpet player on the roof. In addition, the band turned out not to be on the roof during the performance.
Scott was also seen being interviewed on the field before the match.
However, many fans did not like the song itself.
‘Big fan of Travis Scott, but I’m starting to think brother speaks his own language. His songs are both unforgettable and unforgettable.’ said one fan.
“If you need further proof that this country’s youth and future are bleak, Travis Scott is very popular and isn’t even really saying anything,” a second added.
And a third said“My most popular opinion is that this entire genre of music like Travis Scott is terrible and unlistenable.”
The song is currently available for pre-savealthough it’s not clear when it will be released.
The negative reaction to the performance was very different from that of Coco Jones’ pre-match anthem performance.
