Hollywood actress and model Shanna Moakler turned 48 this week.
And the former Playboy model took to Instagram to share a note about the big day.
The ex-wife of Blink 182 drummer Travis Parker was without makeup as she was taking a photo without any filters, just sunlight.
In her caption, she said it wasn’t an easy Christmas as her mother, Jill, passed away in January at the age of 77.
“I can’t deny it was hard having my first day without my mom, because it was,” she began her heartbreaking remark.

Hard Day: In her caption, she said it was not an easy birthday. I can’t deny that today it was hard to spend my first day without my mom, because that was it, I started noticing her
Then she added, “But I looked through my time jump today and saw all the amazing people, places, friends and family, and experiences I’ve been able to have over the past 48 years.”
“And I can’t begin to tell you how happy, grateful and thankful I am to have such an amazing life with so many loving souls that may not all be here, but I feel so blessed and of course my wonderful children,” she said.

“Oh, and no filter, no makeup just some sunscreen for more drama… I like to think my mom was shining with me.”
In January, her mother, Gail, died at the age of 77.
The former Miss USA confirmed to the people On the Tuesday of her mother’s death, she said, “I am so grateful for all the friends and family who have reached out and sent their condolences.”

The reality star added, “My mother was a beautiful, kind, loving woman and everything I could hope she was.”
“As a mother, (Jill) was so loving, kind, and supportive,” Moakler said, noting that “more than anything, she was my best friend and I will miss her every single day of my life.”
She concluded her statement by saying, “I understand that this is part of life and something we can all support each other with, which is the loss of someone we love. Good luck.

Moakler is mom to son Landon, 19, and daughter Alabama, 17, with Travis Parker, 46, who was married from 2004 to 2008; and daughter Atiana De La Hoya, 23, from her previous engagement to boxer Oscar De La Hoya, 49.
This past May, she took to Instagram with a Mother’s Day tribute to her dad via Instagram.
Moakler wrote, “#Happymothersdaygailmoakler There will never be enough words to express how grateful I am for being a mom! Thank you for always being by my side and supporting me through this crazy life. I love you so much! You truly are the most amazing mother….”
For Mother’s Day in 2021, she shared a series of Jill’s photos with the caption, ‘Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful mom @gailmoakler How lucky I am to have a mom like you! You are my best friend and my idol! I love you so much!’
In August of 2021, Moakler took to the site to wish her parents, Jill and John, a happy 50th anniversary.
