If Travis Kelce's feelings from 2016 haven't changed, he doesn't expect Taylor Swift to be at every game he and the Kansas City Chiefs play in.

Despite his superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift’s absence from the latest NFL games he’s playing in, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce says he doesn’t need her to be there all the time.

Kelce returned to form in a strong display against the division rival Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, all while Swift sat out for the second straight week.

But in a resurfaced clip from 2016, Kelce laid out his expectations for whoever he’s dating when it comes to attendance at his games.

In the clip, Travis tells WhoSay: “If you’re dating a professional athlete, I don’t think, at least for me, that you have to go to every game.”

“I mean, there’s 8 home games, 8 road games, plus playoffs,” Kelce added at a time when the NFL schedule had only 16 games.

Kelce added that this expectation wasn’t just for the people he was dating, saying, “I don’t even expect my parents and my friends to do all the games.”

Swift showed his face in the first two games of the season, both in Kansas City, before spending Sunday Night Football in Atlanta and then last week’s game in Los Angeles.

While he doesn’t need his boo to be there every game, Kelce said he would like them to support him at all times.

“I need her to cheer us on when we’re doing great, just to make sure that look is presented to everyone,” Kelce said.

Swift has that energy in spades, as evidenced by the multiple games she was in last season, and cameras often catch her cheering in the luxury suites at Arrowhead Stadium and elsewhere.

But it’s been a bit of a slow start this year for Kelce as he struggled to put up yards and receptions in the first three games of the season. That changed on Sunday, when Kelce led the Chiefs with seven receptions on nine targets for 89 yards.

Kelce recorded his 917th reception in the red and white jersey in the first half. The feat broke Tony González’s record of 916 sacks.

The tight end will hope to keep the momentum going with a Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints.
