Kayla Nicole, Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, told Angel Reese that she thought she would marry the NFL star in their five-year on-again, off-again relationship, and opened up about how her romance with Taylor Swift has impacted her life.
The influencer appeared on the WNBA star Reese’s podcast to open up about her relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl winner, which ended in 2022.
‘My biggest advice when dating an athlete is to always have yours. It’s really easy to get caught up in your dream, in the vision of your life. Something I had to learn early on was that the relationship could end tomorrow and what do you have? she said.
‘At that time it was a long distance relationship, I went back and forth. I was between apartments and I thought “okay, we’re getting married and I’m moving into the house, I don’t really need an apartment.”
‘We broke up, my lease ended, my car lease ended, all at the same time.

‘Luckily we ended up getting back together, but from then on I thought I don’t care who I date, I’ll always have my own place, my own car. Support your career and prioritize my own goals.
Nicole suggested the public nature of the breakup and Kelce now dating one of the most famous people in the world in Swift has been difficult.
“I think the combination of everything is the perfect storm to make you want to disappear from the world completely,” he said.
‘Behind closed doors, the hardest thing is losing a partner, a best friend, talking every day about cutting ties. Then you add social media.
‘I’d be lying if I said that level of hate and chaos online didn’t affect me, even to this day. You could go to my most recent posts and people would be debating why I’m worthless.
‘It has nothing to do with me. “I think there’s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people, which is unfortunate because I don’t think I’ve done anything to warrant that kind of reaction.”
But Nicole spoke positively about Kelce. She called him “the best tight end” in the NFL and it reflects well on their time together.

Nicole spoke about Kelce in an appearance on WNBA star Angel Reese’s podcast.
“It was a good time,” Nicole said. ‘It was great. He’s a great guy, it was a good time in my life. So many lessons learned.”
Nicole also joked that she probably wouldn’t date an athlete again in the future and would like to try to avoid another public relationship.
Kelce and Swift went public with their relationship in September 2023, when she appeared alongside her mother Donna at a Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium.
