Travis Kelce spoke candidly about one of his worst traits on the football field.
The Chiefs tight end, who returned to training camp this week after traveling through Europe with girlfriend Taylor Swift during the offseason, admitted that he may be very hard on himself.
“I am my own biggest critic,” he told reporters during a news conference on Saturday.
“Nobody can tell me how bad a play went, I know right away, as soon as the play is over. I know what I need to do to get better and all that,” he continued.
“You just have to have a certain mindset. You always have to find ways to get better, even when you’re successful on a play. That’s how I’ve done it, and I learned that from (coach Andy Reid), knowing that you can always do things better and you can always make someone else’s job easier on this field.”

The three-time Super Bowl champion, who reported to training camp at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph on Monday, also spoke about his recent trip across the pond to support his girlfriend’s Eras Tour.
“This is my sanctuary, baby,” she said with a smile, referring to the dorms at Missouri Western State University where the news conference was being held.
‘St. Joe’s, Year 12. That means I’ve spent about a whole year of my life here in the dorms,’ he continued.
“Everybody can see it’s pretty exhausting, but I enjoy it, man. There’s something about this place that prepares you every year and I’m not going to lie, I was pretty excited when the clock started ticking down to come here and get this thing going.”
Earlier this week, Swift’s loyal legion of fans celebrated the one-year anniversary of Kelce’s meeting with the pop star after he attended her concert at the Chiefs’ home, Arrowhead Stadium.
On July 26, 2023, Kelce revealed on an episode of his New Heights podcast that he attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.

Although their efforts were unsuccessful at the time, the couple eventually met and their fairytale romance would later dominate headlines.
In honor of the anniversary, Swifties took to social media to commemorate their persistence.
‘Forever grateful for the friendship bracelet, New Heights, and Jason (Kelce) for being a curious big brother,’ one user wrote.
“Travis Kelce caught Taylor Swift’s attention a year ago,” another added. “The rest is history.”
A third referred to their story as a “real-life rom-com,” while a fourth joked: “Well Travis, you knew what you wanted and boy did you get it.”
