Travis Kelce Reveals He Turned Down an Offer to Appear in an Upcoming Netflix Series

Travis Kelce has revealed that his reality TV days are behind him.

The Chiefs tight end, who starred in the 2016 dating show Catching Kelce, said he turned down an offer to appear in a new Netflix documentary series.

The streamer previously announced that the sequel to its smash hit Quarterback, titled Receiver, will follow five of the NFL’s top pass catchers and will debut this summer.

The Kansas City superstar was approached about the show after teammate Patrick Mahomes appeared on the 2023 Quarterback Series.

“After (Patrick Mahomes) became a quarterback, I was asked about that,” Kelce said during an interview on Bussin’ with the Boys last month.

After the three-time Super Bowl champion turned down the opportunity, it was announced that the series would follow Minnesota’s Justin Jefferson. Vikings, Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders, Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers teammates George Kittle and Deebo Samuel.

Kelce, whose fame skyrocketed to meteoric levels in 2023 amid his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift, has been keeping busy in the offseason with his podcast.

The 34-year-old was just 25 when he agreed to film the seven-episode series, which followed his attempt to find love among a group of 50 women, one from each US state.

“I don’t really remember the Catching Kelce era,” he admitted in an interview with WSJ magazine last October.

He has since revealed that he is happier than ever with the Love Story singer, although dating the most famous woman in the world has its challenges.

“You wanna keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything. That’s my girl, you know what I mean? That’s my girl, so it’s like… I’m proud of that,” Kelce said during the interview on Bussin’ with the Boys.

“I’m not sitting here trying to juggle things and thinking, ‘How can I keep this a secret? ‘ You just don’t want to let everyone in your private life and be able to comment on it, knowing that everything she does is going to be news.”

She also revealed the most surprising thing about dating the Cruel Summer singer, explaining: “[The paparazzi]have been the craziest thing. Definitely the stops at the house, the random stuff, I don’t know.

He continued: “It’s a different demographic than the NFL, so it’s been cool to get into that and see her follow it and all that. It’s been fun because a lot more kids are interested in the game and Chiefs fans have become a lot of their fans. And their fans have become Chiefs fans, so I’ve had fun with every aspect of it.”
