Travis Kelce has moved into third place on the NFL’s all-time list in receiving yards for a tight end.

The Kansas City Chiefs star recorded a 19-yard completion to move into third, ahead of Antonio Gates, with a total of 11,854 yards. Gates is at 11,841.

Second on the all-time list is Jason Witten, with 13,046, who could be in Kelce’s sights before he calls it a day and retires from the NFL.

At the top of the leaderboard is Tony González with 15.127, a lead that is probably too much for Kelce, 35, to take advantage of.

The Chiefs tight end, who will play in Charlotte on Sunday without his girlfriend Taylor Swift cheering him on in the stands, has one more year on his contract with Kansas City after this season.

Kelce has long disdained personal statistics, insisting instead that Super Bowl wins are the only thing that matters to him.

He missed last year’s regular-season finale against the Chargers to rest a neck issue, meaning he missed a chance to complete a seventh consecutive season with more than 1,000 receiving yards.

That same week he said on his New Heights podcast: “It never seemed right to me to go out and chase statistics.

“If I could get some rest next week and stay off the grass in L.A. and just avoid some hits, man, I’d be totally fine with that to get ready for the playoffs here.

“I’ve never sat here and said, ‘If I don’t get 1,000 yards, my season is going to be a failure.’ I’ve always had it in my mind that if I lose the Super Bowl, it’s going to be a failure.”
