Travis Kelce knows the Chiefs overcoming their offensive woes won’t be any easier moving forward, as he called Rashee Rice’s leg injury a “big dagger for me.”
The severity of Rice’s leg injury is unknown, while Kansas City has not ruled out a torn ACL for the receiver who was emerging as Patrick Mahomes’ top target on the outside.
The injury occurred after Mahomes threw an interception against the Chargers on Sunday to Kristian Fulton.
While trying to tackle Fulton, Mahomes missed and collided with Rice’s leg, who was left lying on the grass in pain.
“On the offensive side of the ball, we have to get to work,” Kelce said on ‘New Heights.’ “And it won’t get any easier watching Rashee (Rice) go down during the game. I love the way that guy played football, how he attacked every day in practice.”
Kelce called Rashee Rice’s injury a “huge dagger” after the receiver went down Sunday.
Rice’s timetable for a possible return has not been revealed and he could be out for the entire season.
‘Sometimes you just really root for the guys who do it the right way, and Rashee had been doing that, man. It was a huge dagger for me when I saw him fall.’
‘Other than that, I found a way to get the ball into the end zone late, running off the ball. Our offensive line is our biggest weapon right now, those guys up front are paving the way, tight ends included with Noah Gray and my guy J (Jared) Wiley coming in, wide receivers doing their job and the run. game.’
“You have to find a way to win games and sometimes you need those little things that don’t stand out all the time.” The wide receivers come in and take out the safeties for four or five extra yards. The runners run like crazy and get those two or three extra meters.
Kansas City has not announced any timetable for a possible return for Rice.
Kelce himself knows he hasn’t had the same level of production he usually has during the four weeks of the NFL season.
Taylor Swift’s boyfriend has averaged less than 40 yards per game and has yet to score a touchdown this season.
