Travis Kelce bursts into tears AGAIN while discussing Jason’s NFL retirement on New Heights… as the Chiefs star admits he wanted his older brother to play on: ‘It feels empty’

Travis Kelce was overcome with emotion while speaking with his brother Jason about his retirement from football at his latest New Heights podcast.

Jason, 36, announced his retirement Monday after 13 years in the NFL as a player for the Philadelphia Eagles, and the legendary center broke down in tears during an emotional farewell speech.

Among the crowd at the Philadelphia practice facility, Travis was also seen shedding tears alongside his mom Donna and dad Ed as his brother said goodbye to both the Eagles and the sport he has dedicated his life to for nearly two decades.

On this week’s edition of New Heights, the Kelce brothers discussed Jason’s decision to retire from the NFL in more detail, while Travis admitted he wanted his older brother to play next season.

“We didn’t talk much about him retiring,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said. And I wanted to make sure you didn’t feel pressure from me to keep going, knowing that I wanted you to keep going. I wanted you to keep playing this game.

While discussing Jason’s decision about New Heights, an emotional Travis burst into tears.

Jason joked: ‘Why didn’t you tell me this? He would have changed his mind.

After stating that his brother has “always been one step ahead,” and Jason noting that he is the older of the two, Travis broke down in tears as he opened up about the void he already feels without him in the sport.

‘It’s always been like I’ve always had this flotation device right there. “It’s erm…having you out of this, man, it feels empty…and it definitely erm…feels like I’m complete, you know?” he said as he fought back tears.

‘It was a success.’

“I hear you,” Jason responded.

Travis and Jason have enjoyed an iconic journey as the NFL’s most famous brothers over the past decade, and the pair even faced off in a historic Super Bowl last year.

And the Chiefs tight end is devastated to see his brother’s back on the football field, praising him for showing him the ins and outs of the sport.

“It was a really fun ride to watch,” Travis continued. ‘Like I said yesterday, I appreciate you showing me the way and taking us all on the journey with you, big guy.

Jason replied: ‘We show each other the way. I apreciate it. Listen, I can’t play anymore but I’m still going to go to the games. Like I said, you’ve been playing solo for a long time and I hope to be able to appreciate and watch your games more, get a broader view of football and all it has to offer, while still being local. in Philadelphia.
