Travis Kelce told his brother Jason not to let his nieces see the premiere of 'Grotesquerie'

Travis Kelce has told his brother Jason not to let his nieces watch the premiere of his new FX show ‘Grotesquerie.’

Things may not be going well for Kelce on the football field right now after a quiet start to the season for the Kansas City Chiefs that has led some fans and analysts to suggest he retire.

But the tight end is about to embark on a new chapter in his career as he continues to prepare for life after football.

Kelce stars in the horror fiction ‘Grotesquerie’ alongside Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, Lesley ManvilleMicaela Diamond, Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Raven Goodwin.

The pilot episode will premiere on FX on Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET and the series will consist of 10 episodes that will be available to stream the following day on Hulu.

Speaking ahead of the launch of his New Heights podcast, Jason joked that he planned to sit down with his daughters (Wyatt, Elliotte and Bennett) to watch the first episode.

“Are you the bad guy? Are you the killer?” Jason asked.

—I can’t tell you. You’ll have to keep an eye on Jason, Travis replied.

“Make sure the girls watch this. They’re going to love this show.”

Jason told his brother: “Listen, Kylie (his wife) would kill me. I’m having the girls. Is there any warning or will there be a lot of surprises?”

Travis quickly dismissed the possibility that his nieces were watching, replying, “Dude! That was a total joke. Don’t let the girls watch this show.”

“I don’t know if they’ll understand what’s going on in the show. It’s too advanced for young children.”

Earlier this week, Ryan Murphy gave fans a glimpse into how Kelce handled his acting debut.

Esteemed television writer and director Murphy, who has created several hit series and also worked with Kim Kardashian on a different project, revealed that he wrote the role of Kelce specifically for him.

He also revealed that Kelce worked with an acting coach for “several months” and showed up knowing everyone’s lines.

Murphy said: ‘We were talking about his future and what he wants to do after football season, and I was just giving him some fatherly advice.

‘I always have a motto in my world and in my work: a star is a star. It doesn’t matter what field you’re a star in. If you have that charisma, you’re going to transmit it to everything you do.

‘He just came in without much thought. He knew everyone’s lines. He was very professional. He was very committed. He kept telling me, “I’m very teachable, teach me, teach me.”

“So I did and he turned out to be a delight. I would love to continue working with him on this and other things.”

“I can’t say enough about him as a leader. He’s the kindest and sweetest. Everything you think about him is true.”

While his character in the series has yet to be revealed, Kelce provided the introduction for the official trailer before appearing twice in the teaser.

In his only line in the trailer, Kelce’s character monotonously says, “There’s no future after this.” He then reappears near the trailer’s conclusion for a split second.

Kelce’s involvement in the series first surfaced in May, shortly after he signed a two-year, $35.24 million extension with the Chiefs.

FX’s Grotesquerie will premiere on Disney+ on September 26 in the UK.
