Travis Kelce appeared to jokingly wear a Secret Service badge on his jacket when he visited the White House on Friday to commemorate the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Super Bowl again.

The Chiefs star, 34, was invited to take the microphone by President Biden during the trip Friday afternoon, after Biden delivered remarks on the South Lawn of the White House about the team’s success and shooting tragedy at the Chiefs Super Bowl parade. which ended with the death of one woman and injuries to 22 others.

After giving his speech, the president joked, “I’d have Travis come here, but God only knows what he’d say,” before inviting Kelce to step up to the microphone anyway.

“My fellow Americans, it’s a pleasure to see you all again,” Kelce briefly joked, a flashback to the previous year, when he attempted to take the microphone at the event.

“I’m not going to lie, President Biden, they told me if I came up here they would Taser me, so I’m going back to my place,” Kelce said, before shaking Biden’s hand.

It’s unclear if Kelce bought the badge with him or if someone gave it to him during his visit, but he appeared to be the only Chiefs player who had one.

The plaque was also collected by the ‘Kelce Style’ Instagram Pagewhich reveals the brands and cost of Kelce’s outfits, whenever he is seen wearing something other than Chiefs colors.

Biden also seemed to enjoy having the Chiefs there. In addition to joking with Kelce, he also put on a Chiefs helmet at one point during the visit.

“It was great to see him put the helmet on,” quarterback Patrick Mahomes told reporters after the celebration on the South Lawn. “We weren’t expecting that.”

Coach Andy Reid speculated that Biden might have been the first president to wear an NFL helmet.

‘You all witnessed it. “History is being made,” said Reid, who appeared with Mahomes.

It is a long-standing tradition for championship sports teams to be invited to the White House and it is the second year in a row that the Chiefs have traveled to Washington DC.

The Chiefs have won the Super Bowl three times in the last five years, most recently against the 49ers in Las Vegas in February.
