Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter’s unforgettable day on Friday was almost ruined by an apparent argument with his fiancée that was caught on camera.
Hunter led his team’s impressive 52-0 victory over the Oklahoma State Cowboys with three touchdowns and 10 receptions for 116 yards, underscoring his credentials as a potential Heisman Trophy winner.
But after the landslide victory, cameras appeared to capture a tense exchange between Hunter, 21, and his fiancée, Leanna Lenee.
It’s unclear what caused the dispute, but they appeared to disagree about something after the game when the catcher returned to the field.
At one point, Hunter appeared to try to kiss his partner, but she turned her face away from him.
The moment was even picked up by several high-profile accounts on X, with the College Transfer Portal account sending the clip with the caption: “Travis Hunter’s girlfriend was NOT happy with him after the game.”
Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter appeared to have a confrontation with his girlfriend after Friday’s game.
Buffaloes star Hunter is engaged to Lenee, and the college star proposed earlier this year.
Hunter later shared a video of him kissing Lenee on his Instagram Story.
But if there was any unrest at the time, Hunter seemed to try to put an end to any issues with a couple of pointed posts on social media after the game.
He posted a short video to his Instagram Story giving Lenee a kiss before turning to the camera, smiling and saying, “I got lucky.”
Hunter also shared several photos on his feed of him and Lenee, 23, together. He captioned it ‘Queen’ with the song ‘My Girl’ by Mindless Behavior.
Hunter and Lenee announced they were engaged in February.
Friday’s win could also have been one of Hunter’s last games for Colorado.
He is expected to declare for the NFL Draft next year with his current team’s playoff hopes slim.
Colorado’s victory was Hunter’s seventh game of the season with at least 100 yards to his name.
His performance means Hunter finishes the regular season with 92 receptions for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Receiver Hunter is expected to declare for the NFL Draft before the 2025 season.
Incredibly, Hunter also plays cornerback on defense. On that side of the ball, he finished the season with four interceptions and 11 pass deflections.
He recorded his fourth and final interception in his final game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
The Heisman Trophy ceremony will be on December 14 in New York and Hunter will be able to attend with Lenee by his side.
