Travis and Jason Kelce are getting closer to taking their podcast to new heights amid talks with Amazon, according to a report.
New Heights enjoyed a meteoric rise during the last NFL season with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis dating Taylor Swift as his team cruised to a Super Bowl victory.
And the success of the podcast has attracted titans of the media industry and the Kelce brothers are said to be in “serious talks” with Amazon, according to the New York Post.
The Chiefs star and retired Eagles legend are reportedly discussing bringing the popular show to Amazon’s Wondery.
However, an agreement has not yet been finalized.
Jason and Travis Kelce are reportedly in talks with Amazon about their New Heights podcast.
The two brothers have seen the popularity of their show rise in recent weeks and months.
Travis and Taylor Swift’s relationship has been a key factor in the growth of the podcast
The report comes amid speculation that the brothers could land a nine-figure deal to keep the podcast running following its success, according to the financial information website MarketWatch.
“Businesses want the Jason and Travis Kelce podcast because of the deep relationship they have with their audiences,” said Eric Silver, head of development at Multitude, a collective podcast studio and ad sales provider, quoted by MarketWatch.
‘That’s the most important thing in podcasting. “I wouldn’t be surprised if it was $100 million.”
Silver’s comments follow a report in Bloomberg last week that the Kelces are seeking new terms. That report says they could reach a settlement of around $80 million.
Jason is also continuing his foray into media outside of the podcast, moving into the broadcast booth amid his recent retirement from the NFL.
It was announced last month that the former center will join ESPN’s coverage of Monday Night Football following his retirement from the NFL, it was confirmed.
“Monday Night Football just got even better, congratulations @JasonKelce,” reads a statement on the official social media account for the Kelce brothers’ hit New Heights podcast.
His next move was the subject of intense speculation and, according to The Athletic, several networks were pursuing the 36-year-old.
Kelce previously appeared as an analyst on Amazon Prime’s Thursday night broadcast.
NBC, CBS and Amazon would be among those interested in hiring Kelce, who already offers his opinion on football in weekly episodes of New Heights.
But ESPN won the battle for his services, and Kelce is expected to be part of the ‘Monday Night Countdown’ pregame show.
This despite Kelce previously appearing as an analyst on Amazon Prime’s Thursday night broadcast. He and his wife Kylie also filmed a documentary, ‘Kelce’, on the streaming service in 2023.
In addition to talking about the NFL, the brothers talk about their personal lives, including Travis’ relationship with Swift, and their upbringing in Cleveland.
They started the podcast in September 2022 and release episodes every Wednesday, with an additional edition every Friday during the NFL season previewing the weekend’s games.
They have 2.3 million subscribers and their one hour and 50 minute episode recapping how the Chiefs won the Super Bowl last month has racked up 3.5 million views. A guest episode in which Jason’s wife, Kylie, talks about Travis and his love life, before he went public with his relationship with Swift, has 7.5 million views.
Jason Kelce, 36, walks away from football with career earnings of around $81 million during his 13 years with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Meanwhile, Travis has earned an estimated $77 million to date with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he won the Super Bowl three times, and recently signed a new two-year extension through the 2027 season with an average annual salary of $17. .1 million dollars. that will make him the highest-paid tight end in football.
Jason and his wife Kylie also filmed a documentary, ‘Kelce’, on the streaming service in 2023.
Jason tearfully announced his retirement from the NFL in March after 13 years.
The 34-year-old tight end has said before that he thinks about retirement more than he admits, but that he will continue to play at least one more season with his Chiefs team in search of an unprecedented third title.
It will also be brilliant content next season on New Heights. Speaking at Super Bowl week in Las Vegas, Jason talked about how the show helped him maintain his bond with Travis.
“I haven’t been that connected to Travis in the last two years, since college,” he said.
‘And that’s been one of the best things, probably the best, about the podcast. It forces us: since we are brothers, before we spent months alone without speaking to each other. We texted, we sent a funny video, but [to] Really sit down and talk to him, it would be a long time.
“It’s been fantastic, it’s the second year and I think we’ve improved a lot.” I feel that, above all, we have a tremendous team: our contribution is minimal, we only talk.
By doing this, you already know that once a week we are going to sit down and talk. And we’re going to have very meaningful conversations, fun conversations and we’re going to really know where each of us are in our lives and that’s the most fun part.
‘It has reached a higher level thanks to many different factors, including my brother’s love life. But I think it’s fun to see people enjoying it and it’s fun to see where it’s at.”
