A major software outage has caused travel chaos at Brisbane Airport, leaving passengers fuming over major delays to their weekend flights.

The problem, which is believed to have affected both domestic and international terminals, occurred around 9:30 a.m. local time on Saturday.

Brisbane Airport issued an alert to X travelers that the technical issue would cause flight disruptions.

“Passengers are advised that some airlines are currently affected by a software outage, which may cause delays,” the alert said.

“Please check with your airline for more information.”

Frustrated Australians took to social media to claim the disruption had left passengers on board the planes unable to get off the plane.

“My husband landed today at 8:17am and is still on the plane waiting for you to let the plane park and disembark,” wrote one furious woman.

‘It’s 9.11, almost an hour. Is this normal? Why are you making those passengers wait?

Brisbane Airport responded to the complaint saying the disruption affected some airlines and caused delays.

Officials issued an update on X shortly after 2 p.m. to report that the outage had been fixed.

‘The software outage has now been resolved. Please check with your airline for more information,” the alert said.
