  • She said not being able to shave aggravated her gender dysphoria, and when officers entered her cell, she spat at a cell and said, ‘I have Covid’

Formerly known as Mark Walker, the defendant was first sentenced to 13 years in prison in 2003 for two rapes against girls under 16, one of four, along with taking and distributing indecent photographs of children.

A transgender pedophile attacked a security guard after her razor blades were removed because it “aggravated gender dysphoria,” a court heard.

Marcia Walker, 47, reacted angrily when agents from HMP Frankland, a category A men’s prison, objected to her possession of razor blades, Durham Crown Court was told.

The defendant, formerly known as Mark Walker, was first sentenced to 13 years in prison in 2003 for two rapes against girls under 16, one of four, and taking and distributing indecent photographs of children.

Walker was sentenced to a further six months in prison in 2012 after alleging that a bomb had been sent to the home of then Secretary of the Interior Theresa May. In 2017, she was given a new term for making fake bomb threats against Long Lartin Prison.

Walker, who now identifies as Marcia, is in a long-running dispute over access to sex reassignment surgery, despite being recognized as a woman by prison authorities. Yahoo news reports.

She said not being able to shave aggravated her gender dysphoria, and when officers entered her cell, she spat at a cell and said, “I’ve got Covid.”

Walker also threatened another inmate along with jailer Michael Roachford during the same incident.

The seizure of National Geographic magazines – sent to prison by a charity – because of the photos of naked children in them, had angered Walker, the court heard.

Walker had insisted in an interview that she had no sexual interest in the photos, adding, “They can’t take my razors from me.”

They appeared via video link to admit that a prison officer had been assaulted, a sexual harm prevention order violated, and threatened to murder Mr. Roachford and fellow inmate Liam Edwards.

Fiona Lamb, soothingly, said: “The defendant has had a rather unpleasant experience in custody. I’m sure no one likes it, but the personal circumstances of the defendant made it very difficult for her. ‘

Judge Ray Singh expressed “real concerns” about Walker’s release, but also said there were problems with the continued detention in the prison.

He said he took “a chance” when he sentenced Walker for all offenses for three months in a row, 15 months in total – and suspended them for two years.

Walker will also be supervised after the sentence.

Walker is on remand in Durham prison, but will now be leaving within 24 hours, the court heard.

Kent Police, Walker’s original offender managers from 2003, will take her to an agreed-upon accommodation in Guildford, Surrey.
