Ols is hoping for a more solid experience in Yorkshire, where he will replace Aaron Ramsdale who joined Arsenal.
The Gunners brought in Ramsdale from the Blades 11 days ago in a £30 million deal to provide competition for No. 1 Bernd Leno.
United turned down two offers from Arsenal but eventually gave in to their approaches.
Jokanovic had also made inquiries about former Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero.
Karamoh, 23, was an option considered by Crystal Palace earlier in the window. The former France U21 international has had spells at Bordeaux and Inter Milan.
