Lovren had attracted the attention of the Italians earlier in the transfer window, but talks failed to materialise.
Liverpool are keen to keep hold of the experienced star, as they go about competing on multiple fronts this season and stage an assault on the Premier League title.
The Italian reports claim Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi will now return to Liverpool with a solid offer for Lovren, in hope the player’s desire for game-time will orchestrate a move.

Lovren is yet to feature for the Reds this season, with Matip partnering Virgil van Dijk in central defence and Gomez on standby as the next in command.
Roma are reported to be hopeful of concluding a loan move for the Reds star, with the option to buy at the end of the season.
It is also expected the Croatian’s wages would be taken on by the Italian club, were he to spend the season in Serie A.
After finishing sixth last season, Roma will be competing in the Europa League after missing out on Champions League qualification.
