Former liberal transgender Americans voted this year for President-elect Donald Trump because they feared Democrats would push gender-based attention to minors.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, transition supporters, who voted Republican for the first time in history, said they supported Trump’s view that gender treatments such as puberty blockers, hormones and reassignment surgeries of sex, should be prohibited for people under 18 years of age.

Republicans called for this on the campaign trail with a $200 million ad campaign and have said they would stop taxpayer funding for sex-change treatments for all ages and block transgender people from entering the military.

While Democrats’ stance was that they would not dictate treatment plans to doctors, they more recently changed their stance saying that children should not undergo sex reassignment surgeries at all.

Chloe Cole, who began transitioning into a child at age 12, said on X: “I’m a strong, smart woman. I voted for Donald Trump.”

Cole, now 20, stopped her transition at 17, but not before doctors prescribed puberty blockers, testosterone, and had her breasts removed.

She continued: ‘At 15, I lost my breasts in the name of gender ideology. My body will never be the same because of radical leftist policies. I support Donald Trump because he will end gender transition for minors.’

Similarly, Nicolas Blooms, who began transitioning at age 18 before finishing transition at age 22, also said he supported Donald Trump. The 24-year-old said he took feminizing hormones but never had surgery.

He told DailyMail.com: ‘The main reason I voted donald trump I just don’t want kids to go through medical transitions at such a young age.

‘Donald Trump posted a recent video saying he wants to make sex changes for minors illegal. I support it 100 percent.

“I think after going through medical transition and detransition, this is not something kids should be playing with.”

Blooms said hormone therapy had left him needing to go to the bathroom regularly and with fat accumulated on his chest.

And Laura Becker, who transitioned at age 17 before detransitioning at age 22, also endorsed Trump, saying: “If we can’t agree on objective truth, if we can’t agree on biological reality objective and accept that we shouldn’t lie to people, about who we are… so that’s a red flag for me.

“Kamala cannot be truthful about biological sex, and we already know that her administration, including her vice president Tim Walz, has advocated for children to transition.”

Many of the transition leavers who spoke to DailyMail.com, who had initially been far-left activists, said they felt a majority of people in similar situations backed Trump in this election, voting Republican for the first time.

A poll conducted on X by detransitionist Prisha Mosley, asking that only detransitionists vote, received 45 responses. Fifty-eight percent of the group backed Trump, while only seven percent backed Kamala.

Another 35 percent did not vote. The survey was not closed and allowed anyone to respond.

The Trump campaign made opposition to transgender child care part of its campaign, saying in an ad that Kamala was for ‘them/them,’ referring to pronouns used by people who identify as neither male nor female. .

Trump has said he plans to stop the “chemical, physical and emotional mutilation of our youth” by passing a law banning the care of transgender minors in all 50 states.

Kamala Harris, on the other hand, tried to dodge the issue when asked about her opinion in an October interview with NBC News.

He said he would not put himself in the shoes of doctors who should make the decision “in terms of what is medically necessary.”

At least 800 children ages 12 to 18 receive gender-affirming surgeries each year in the U.S. according to a 2023 JAMA study which analyzed data from almost all states. The vast majority received breast or chest surgery.

Many detransitioners have argued that the modern medical system attempted to transition them when all they needed was therapy and help with their mental health.

But supporters of care for transgender minors argue that it is medically necessary and say studies show that if denied care, children will commit suicide.

TO study 2022 from the University of Toronto suggested that 82 percent of transgender people have considered suicide and 40 percent have attempted suicide.

But many doctors also warn that the effects of gender-affirming treatments on people, especially children, are understudied and can lead to lifelong complications. They also say they may not improve children’s mental health.

Others who left the transition and expressed support for Trump included Maia Poet. He had begun transitioning when he was 12 years old.

Trump also plans to reinstate his ban on transgender service members, which was lifted by the Biden administration in 2020. The military is a major employer of transgender people and has more than 15,000 trans service members.

Additionally, the president-elect has suggested that he will eliminate legislation that protects against discrimination based on sexuality or gender identity.

Those who have attended Trump rallies said they did not experience discrimination.

Bloom, who resides in Arizona, said, “As much as people want to say that MAGA people are homophobic and transphobic, the vast majority just don’t care.”

‘They don’t care that he’s gay, they love that he’s gay, it’s very liberating.

‘While the liberals just look at me dirty. Liberals harass me, I get homophobia and they bully me, even though all they talk about is love and compassion.’

He added: ‘It was difficult for me to see my friends voting for Kamala. A lot of people blocked me. As much as they think they are compassionate, they are not; they were not able to retain judgment and really listen.’

An estimated 1.6 to 3 million people in the United States identify as transgender.
